The LE on Amazon is the standard edition on Origin, so it's £35 instead of £45, not £65. You will, of course, have to install Origin to play it...
Is Origin a must to play? Can't I just run the exe through Steam? Don't have any EA games on PC, so have zero experience with Origin lol.
I'm not a fan of Steam or Origin. I miss the days when a game was on it own. I hate having to open one program to play another.
I think it'll need Origin, just like Battlefield 3 does. It's part of the DRM system - same goes for all Steam games.
My problem is they don't tell you if you can actually make a whole themed foreign city or just the landmark for the city (unless I missed it). I'm not going to play $20 more just to place the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben in an American style city.
I've been lurking their forums and from what I understand you plop down one landmark and then medium density buildings in the area will start following that theme. Not worth it either way IMO.
I agree. I just preorder it from Gamestop anyways. The only bonus I really care about is the heroes and villains thing. That seems cool.
Pre-ordered the delux edition a while ago. While I think £65 is crazy, my partner loves Sim City, so I thought what the hell.....it keeps them quiet for a bit
Quite looking forward to this, but the price is very steep and I'm worried about it being another Spore
I don't think its too bad, that kind of game usually brings hundreds of hours of fun unlike some random 10 hour shooter for £30.
Thought I'd drop a link to the Art Director's blog here, it has tons of screenshots. The High Tech industry looks so good! http://oceanquigley.blogspot.com And a couple of misc screenshots from elsewhere:
Looks like Lego only it's alive and moves. If I had this when I was 10 my mind would be totally blown. If it's fun to play I'll be so happy.
I am now disappointed after hearing this: No save files you can reload (so no destroying your city and reloading) No terrain editing Smaller cities (even smaller than Societies?) No subways No density zoning (like low density residential or high density commercial) Airports are now outside your city and has to be a collaboration between several cities
