The human eye does not see in fps. We see things in a constant stream of light.

Actually we do see in fps. The photoreceptive cells of the human eye have a reaction discharge and recharge time, which means that they have an upper limit to how often they can be triggered by a photon. Light-sensitive rods are sluggish and have a fps, so to speak, of 15Hz. Colour-specific cones have an fps of about 60Hz. The highest flicker frequency that people can observe is about 75Hz. Beyond that we perceive a constant light or image. This is called the flicker fusion threshold.

Of course how fast the brain can decode visual information and construct it into an image is also a factor.

Some animals, particularly birds have a much higher flicker fusion threshold. This is why pigeons seem to get out of the way of your car at only the very last moment. To them they still have plenty of time. :)

25%? That's more than I was expecting, and possibly actually worth an upgrade! Comes down to pricing ultimately I think.

TTL from OC3D will be doing a Live Review at 3pm on Youtube, so I think it's 3PM that the NDA is lifted.

Almost forgot about Toms reviews! I'll have to tune in to that as he does give some no BS advice.

That's why I like his reviews, because he is straight to the point.

For me my next cards either a 780 or Titans, or what ever comes next year will be watercooled so I won't be buying them till they come out with some with waterblocks already attached, EVGA I am looking at you here.

Is this Tom Logan? I was unaware of him until i read this review, possibly one of the worst reviews of pc hardware i've ever read.

You need to see his videos, I've never 'read' any of his written reviews.

I enjoy Tom's video reviews too, it's an underused medium with hardware. I thought his review of the Bitfenix Prodigy whilst sweating his ass off in a wife beater vest was hilarious (because he was wearing a wife beater vest tbh). Now I own one :)

Chances are ill be passing on the 7 series for the first time in a while dont feel like i need another performance upgrade ( can max every game with what i have ), Dont really have the space for multi monitor and 4k monitors are a dream of which i can upgrade when they arive.

May get Haswell instead. 25% is alot more than i expected but that means its also alot faster than the rumoured 770 that they are making. ( 770 looks like a 680 with improved clock speeds)

Do also wonder about the price if its only 5-7% slower than a Titan is it going to be priced 10% below or something as thats still one expensive GPU.

I have just worked out that it's going to be around £515 based on a leaked US Price, and that includes VAT but then I reckon the price with be between £500 and £550.

I can't help but massively dislike the guy. His case video reviews are great, but for some reason I just don't 'get on' with his personality.

Nvidia's new strategy: When new cards are released, don't reduce the price of the last gen; just pile on the price and gouge as much cash as you can.

It's no wonder I skip a couple of generations between upgrades these days.
