Am I the only person on here who is eagerly awaiting this game's release on Friday? I've found no mention of a preview anywhere and not one forum post about it!

The original Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay game was one of my top games 4/5 years ago and I'm counting down the hours till I can go and buy it on Friday.

Should be awesome, the Assault on Dark Athena is apparently a bit short but then you have a revamped original game in there too.

Tried the (short) demo from fileplant.

Am I the only one who was not that impressed by it?

The demo was rubbish indeed, the game isn't however (so far anyway).

This has been a total breath of fresh air for me and has even dragged me away from Empire: Total War.

I am a huge gritty Sci Fi fan and loved Pitch Black as it was such a pure, streamlined experience. So when the slightly limp and bloated second film was released I was understandably disappointed.

Escape from Butcher Bay, however, instilled new life into the franchise and now with the release of Dark Athena, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a proper sequel.

That said, for all I am enjoying the violence, voice acting, musical score, adult themes etc etc, the game does definitely have its fair share of flaws, including:

    1.) Dumb enemy AI
    2.) Poor boss fights
3.) Poor checkpoint system with no 'save' button

However, let us remember that this is a film-to-game title, from a small, independent developer that is reasonably priced and not utter trash.

    Thoughts? Experiences?

I may get this on the PS3 rather than the PC. I completed Butcher bay on the Xbox, then the Directors Cut on the PC and really want this one, but I haven't decided on the format yet. The PS3 version will have resale value if I'm ever strapped for cash! :)

    I liked EFBB.
Dark Athena's visuals left me thoroughly unimpressed.

I'm a little let down, tbh. After all the hype that was the most anticlimactic first-half-hour of any game I have ever played.
