    [SeVeReDhEaD] - Here's how you can remove those shortcut arrows from your desktop icons in XP.

    1.Start regedit.
    2.Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, find lnkfile
    3.Delete the IsShortcut registry value.

    You may need to restart Windows XP

    Here's my current ubuntu desktop:

    Still needs some proper theming, and a really good wallpaper. That's about as clean as the thing gets, I just tossed a bunch of mp3's from ocremix into that music_unsorted folder, so it was really messy before I took this shot.

    Sorry, didn't see it.

    I think Virtual PC just threw a hissy fit when I resized the title bars and menus to 15 pixels and made the icons tiny. It wasn't intentional.

    Anyone can download my Samurize config at http://bin.woventhorns.com just click on cha_ninja_2.zip I made the config.ini, but of course all the praise for the graphical goodness goes to ChaNinja. I'm hoping he doesn't mind me using these icons.

    Oh, and just throw the "shiny" folder in your skins directory and the .ini file in your config folder.

    normal look. i HATE clutter-y desktops. i save the mess for my actual desk.

    auto-hide-y taskbar, sysmetrix with 15% visibility, full on mouseover, and OD set to autohide on top. i still tend to d/l stuff to the desktop, but usually move it promptly.

    wallpaper usally changes every few days. last week it was the new DigitalBlasphemy island thing.



    oh ya, and i know my temps are atrocious - need to clean the cpu duct filter out.


    <ed> ok - now i feel like the guy that goes to the show and wears the shirt of the band that every other tool wore - and that post wasnt there when i started typing this ... </ed>

    tk421 what software did you use to do those rollover things? I keep wanting to do that but never remember to google it properly :hehe:
