Really is such a holiday in the US. National Cheesecake Day - July 30th This is actually the 30th anniversary of the holiday and the local Cheesecake Factory stores are to do $1.50 slices at all their locations.

Just thought I would post a couple of images of the cheesecake that filled our fridge on holiday last week. I was visiting my father's homeland (West Cork, Rep. of Ireland), and one of my cousins has built up a very successful business from one of the family farms. They produce speciality dairy products, and have won many awards. When the whole family (or at least 45 of them) converged on the country house we were renting for a barbecue, his wife brought four of their cheesecakes, and a whole host of desserts.
