Hi all. I've been trying to decifer a couple threads. Touch Activated Switch HDD connectors (actually interested in a tangent of this thread) I plan to do what MadMac did with his faceplate. Was originally going to go with the same sort of buttons has he had chosen (wish I could find them in black metal!), but got interested in the "clean look", sans buttons. I know nothing about electronics. I couldn't find any results of what they were trying to do. Neither MadMac or mcduffiem have posted recently, and I was wondering if they were still around. If I go this way, then I'll probably incorporate a reset switch behind an illuminated case badge... unless I (or someone else) comes up with something more appealing.
I'm taking a slightly different route. I purchased a little card from Ramsey Electronics for $6.95 that provides the touch sensitive switch function. I plan to mount the sensor plate behind some illuminated artwork under a sheet of acrylic. Details here: http://www.thewarfields.com/BorgCubePanelElec.htm Here's what I'm trying to do with it: http://www.thewarfields.com/BorgCubePanel.htm And here's my worklog: http://www.pheatonforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=446 It's a LONG way from done!
Thanks Bob, That should Ramsey Kit should make things much easier. Now to figure out how to use a relay with it. Mark.
FWIW, I was googling the web, trying to find what relay to use with the Ramsey circuit and how to use the relay with it (I had just ordered it) - I cam across these links: Touch switch Electronic Touch Button (Foreign with (computer?) translated English) (The second appears more complicated, and uses a relay) Mark.
