Hey you lovely Techy-Bits, Longtime no posts. So I've had a limp for about 3 months plus a cough since mid December. I thought it was just a n infection plus I could have twisted something whilst out walking the dog. Anyway, it just wasn't going away so I booked a Doctor's appointment and went along. Got a referral for x-rays on both areas. Results came back in two weeks later in which time I had a coughing fit one day and developed a pain above the heart. Doctor said there was a lesion under my knee and a shadow on the right lung. ****! Well, looking positive and awaiting the further referrals for a CT scan and MRI. CT scan was pretty quick and I had it a couple of days after. Got the Orthopedic surgeon appointment at end of the month. The cough was pretty constant but the day after the CT scan, I woke in the morning with massive pain above the heart... clammy, etc. Called 111 for advice, asked to go to hospital... went to hospital. The heart turned out to be fine... normal ECG etc. Had more x-rays and another CT scan. Had to wait around then was given information but all I heard was cancer and malignant. More referrals booked. Leg progressing getting worse, the day after I returned to hospital. More bad news - large mass in left lung (why I have the pain there (where I THOUGHT the heart was lol), nodules in the right ("here I am stuck in the middle with you"), on my kidneys (looks like that's where it originated) and my hips. Still unsure about the leg but I'm optimistic! Anyway, point of the story is even if you feel the littlest bit ill or have a pain etc... don't wait too long before checking it out! And as I still have stuff and new stuff will be posted this week, please have a look at this - no pressure but it would mean a lot ! ReWood.UK – Rewood.uk Now to kick this **** out of my body! Ian
Well that sucks massive donkey nads. Get your fighting mitts on my friend, we're all behind you. Time to kick the crap out of this fothermucker.
****. Hope it all gets sorted quickly! It's always a challenge, knowing when to go to doctor and when to just "wait and see".
Update… the lesion in my knee has made my left leg bone weaker! Found out by breaking my femur yesterday. Sat in Colchester hospital on drugs and in pain. They were going to put a nail through but have decided that might not be best course of action due to the weaknesses in the bone. Referral to royal orthopaedic to see if a replacement would be better!
It sounds like you're a selfless chap, it's time to be quite selfish and take no prisoners, get good people doing their best as this is all about you. I'm sure you've got broad shoulders and can carry a load, but don't ever be afraid to absolutely lean on others to get what is best for you. Wishing you all the best through whatever treatment is chucked your way.
Damn, that's quite a few big hits at once. I really wish you all the best with this, and as someone above said, this can be beaten. Best of luck with it and hope here can provide a place to let things out if needed.
First op tomorrow! Sedation followed my metal blocks to stem any bleeding!!! Thursday for the main op on knee removal and cutting out femurs issues. - wish me luck and see you at either
