Final Fantasy VII Remake pre-ordered and installing now. Hopefully there won't be any nasty day 1 patch surprises tomorrow morning, because download speeds from PSN are throttled right now.

I hate pre-ordering games but this game is literally the reason I bought a PS4, and I've waited the better part 16 years for this game to finally arrive. So.... yeah.... ****in HYPE.

10 days off from work to spend studying. Shame I can't get out with the drone but still, little victories.

16 years? How come? The original was released in 1997, has the remake been that long in the making?

It's been rumoured for as long as time, man.

I don't remember when, but it's definitely been a floating rumour since either the back end of PS2 time or very early PS3 time.

Basically, yes. It was rumoured for PS2 back in the early 2000s, and in 2004/2005 Square/SquareEnix basically confirmed it was happening. Then there was the PS3 tech demo released at E3 2005 - the opening train scene re-done on PS3 development hardware, and it looked amazing. Plus you had all the 'Compilation of FFVII' stuff that happened around the same time, with Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, etc.

Then it all went quiet for about a decade. Until E3 2015 when Square confirmed that this is definitely happening now and the internet (or at least the portion that cares about FFVII, myself included) lost its collective ****.

So.... yeah. I've been waiting for this for over 15 years!

2023 is my guess for that. So still five years before Star Citizen's full release.

To be perfectly fair... FFVII Remake hasn't been in development for 16 years, it's been in development about 5 years. But I've been waiting for it for 16 years

Bank holiday weekend. Been bonkers busy these last few weeks and assuming nothing breaks I may get a few days to actually relax.

Just received about £100 back from overpayments an old energy supplier took about 2 years ago. Includes £30 of 'goodwill gestures'.
    Still wouldn't recommend them.

    I rescued a bumblebee in distress :D

He was caught in the net curtain trying to get out. He was perilously close to a spider's web, and the little sod was waiting for him too. So I got a deodorant cap and piece of card and he jumped straight in so I could set him free :D

Wasn't Eon by any chance was it? They have just doubled my monthly payments based on an estimated meter reading but when I try and put my correct readings into the app they 'appear to be incorrect' because they are lower than the estimated readings and I need to call them. But can I get hold of anyone? Can I ****. They are only dealing with emergencies and everyone else has to wait 'a few weeks' before trying to contact them

Making nacho cheese is the dirtiest thing you can do with butter, flour, milk, and cheese.

So worth it tho. So worth it.

    This, or thereabouts: https://www.delish.com/uk/cooking/recipes/a30621429/nacho-cheese-sauce-recipe/

Make a roux: melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add 2 tablespoons of flour, mix, cook the flour off for at least a few minutes or it'll be grainy. Slowly add 200-250ml of milk, making sure it's fully absorbed into the mixture. Now you've got a basic roux. Add 200-250g of your chosen cheese, let it melt fully, and cook for a few minutes. Season with about a half teaspoon of cayenne pepper, hot paprika, or chilli powder, if you choose.

I used mature cheddar and a bit of red Leicester for colour.
