The greatness of the community, the formerly great articles (the GPU reviews, the Game reviews, the IQ reviews and the blogs by members who are no longer present). I post here not as much anymore, and it saddens me, especially not seeing Clive, Richard, or Tim's articles or blogs. I miss the old BT and they were a large part of why I joined. Of course the community is still pretty awesome.
Looked back at my first posts, embarrassed :x The reason I signed up is because I found a UT3 thread on google, and was excited beyond measure for it Shame it was awful eh :]
Oh it was, and to this day I live in constant fear of big speedo wearing men carrying an economy can (crowd pleasers) of jasmin scented, water based lubricant...
Got into building my own pc's and then discovered the magazine. The rest is history but the main draw was the magazine cover. sent from HTC Sensation
The forum I was using at the time ha a good overclocking / water cooling / modding community and run by some very nice people. We Have a call of duty clan for a couple years but it slowly fell apart of natural causes and the vibe felt a bit dead from then onwards. I've been a log term lurker at bit-tech so registered to try and join in I like to think I've contributed since my joining so I'm happy here
acrimonious brought me here, I seem to remember his words were along the lines of "This place is awesome, you've got to try it!" Needless to say, he was right.
this http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=209330 And after that i was all "blend in man! Blend in!"
Saw the magazine in Sainsbury's and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Joined the site not long after due to needing to ask a question
I read CPC from the start, and I'm sure I originally joined B-T in 2003 to ask some advice questions. Damned if I can remember what my original username/email address were though, so I had to re-register when I needed advice again about a year after the CPC forums were dissolved. I like it here. I lurk mostly, but I am trying to chime in when I can be helpful or offer a valid opinion.
Joined CPC when I was looking to upgrade my PC then came here after it joined with bit-tech. I was plain old Smiffy back then. BTW does anyone who was on CPC remember a regular poster who claimed he was Billy Duffy from the band The Cult?
I think I did a search on Modding PC's all those years ago. Do I get a prize of being one of the oldest members with the fewest posts?
I was a longtime member of TomsHardware forums. However, was looking for a forum based in the UK, and so joined Bit Tech!
