Cheapskate <-- An emoticon speaks a thousand words, right?

barry99705 <-- I get the idea now. But in the size I'm on now, it would hold about 2 liters of liquid, and be waaaay to large for this mod. :)

I promised drawings, and here they are. Somehow they never turn out the way I want others to see them, but the finished product should, so nm. :thumb:

Water flows down into the rotor, gets spun around, and leaves out the side, thru a piece of pipe, and onwards to the waterblock.

Assembled with the aluminum and such...

Hopefully I'll get it machined either sunday or monday, C ya guys then for a new update! :)

I was thinking something like this, but maybe with a little steeper angle. 30deg is too shallow.

Hey, just thought of something. You could keep it like this, with the size you have. Then mount the wii on the top of the center point. I don't think I've ever seen anybody use a res as a stand! :D

Let's hope this will add a bit of "class" to my persona...

Well. I decided to call off X-mas, and spent some hours in the workshop today getting the pump/reservoir back on track.

I didn't quite finish, but tomorrows another day! :thumb:

Aluminum top-base for the pump. Adds distance from the original pump, to the bottom of the propeller:

    In the making:

Voila, almost done. I still need to make the outlet on the pump, but that should come tomorrow!

    Whadoyamean "tight fit"?

    I call this one "Pieces"!

    Somewhat assembled:

    The aluminum cover wrapped around:

Bottom of the res/top of the pump in all it's glory. Still need the outlet, but you get the idea! :

Well, that's it for now, more shall come tomorrow!

    Merry X-mas to all!
I hope santa brings you those great hard(ware) gifts! :)

    Cheapskate <-- Macro-photo's Cheesecake!

Actually the reservoirs are not THAT big... Well, for a WII they might be... :)

All in all they are 70 mm in diameter, and 220 mm in hight.

    Glad you like it! :)

Yet another small update. Got up early this morning and took a couple of hours in the workshop.

Except for figuring out exactly how the exit from the pump/res will be, this should be done now. :)

    Hole drilled:

Hose for outlet mounted (not glued yet)

The hose got a bit burned as I used my lighter to get a smooth bend. This will of course be replaced! :)

I milled a fast pice of the center of the bottom part, just to see if I got all the meassurements right. I didn't, glad I just made this of a piece of scrap aluminum!
    Something works well though!

Just to get and idea of the final setup:

As you see, it doesn't quite fit, I'll do some meassuring from this, and then I'm off to Ye Olde Workshop again tomorrow to do the final version of the bottom.

I mailed a guy in Germany today about the fittings I need, just to make sure he has the 24 I need. Hope he does, then they should arrive soon, and be ready to fit if I get all the other stuff ready by then! :)

Even your 'failures' are too awesome for words.:D
For a Wii, that res is massive. You upgraded it from 'Wii' to 'Wang' status.

    M.Ø.J <-- Thank you! :)

Cheapskate <-- "Insert penile joke here"

Well... Even though the workshop is only 13 degrees celsius at the time, I had to do something. I got the top and bottom on the way. But they are far from done still.
Only stayed for 5 hours, so I didn't get very far, but I'll get further tomorrow.

    Todays update:

    Bottom piece in the mill:

    Top, bottom and connector-rods:

    Assembly in progress:

    The top mounted:

    Right res:
And yeah, the top was used for a test, no worries, it will be milled down as intended.

    Left res/pump:

    Insert Wii here:

    Well, more like here:

    That's it for now.
I ordered fittings, a temp gauge, some thermal paste and some red liquid for it in Germany yesterday, hope it arrives soon! :)

    More to follow tomorrow.

I sense a rather inefficient design here. If the black tube is the exit of the pump, the channel should be tangent to the propeller. It's not a gear pump but a centrifugal (radial) one.

DELTAFX <-- I would say you are right.
But since the original design is like this:

I guess it should work... We'll find out! :thumb:

    I lol'd.

Really nice project you have going there. The part where you made the reservoir's is really nice since I have been looking for more reservoir ideas for my own minor project.

Rocketjumping <-- Ty, and I'm glad to be of service. :)

Dark~3nergy <-- There will be no "real" radiator. I will use aluminum pipes, attached to the backplate, that the liquid will flow through. Difficult to explain, but I should have them done within a week, when I get the fittings. :)
I did a "kindof" test of the pump an hour ago, the problem is that I got all the hose at the workshop, and therefore it was a bad test... But it did pump though, I estimate that it will run at about 150-200 Liters an Hour. That is fine and dandy for this project. The liquid will flow through 3 times a minute.

Not like on the G5 with the DDC pump, where the liquid goes through 20 times a minute! But there really is no heat in the WII, which is why the W/C is completely stupid and overkill!
    But meh like that! :thumb:
