I think its a great competition. Though that sofa is about £2,300 so don't think you can buy that with the winnings. However, I'm sure there's plenty of other great sofas for around the prize price.

    Good luck

I built a pretty sweet desk out of a metal door I got at a salvage yard. I also built my own speakers. I may have a triple monitor setup, but the rest has been DIY. I think I might have a pretty decent chance of winning too . . . if I didn't live in the U.S.

Bummer. I would love £500 at amazon.

I have a desk I salvaged from my work office before it was closed down - I'd send in a picture, but you wouldn't be able to see it beneath all the piles of paper!

Yes as I said, you couldn't buy that sofa in the picture.

Really? Which competition was that? I might be able to chase it up for you.

Some great entries so far guys - keep 'em coming.

I've changed the main article wording to reflect the fact that we're not just looking for the biggest telly here but just something that catches our eye. So far we've seen some clever uses of gaffer tape and a fresh take on reusing an old case, plus some super tidy setups, all of which will be in with a chance.

Nor did I. It wasn't a big prize - a GoG voucher, but the code didn't work, emails fell on deaf ears, and I couldn't be bothered chasing it further.

I have no problem with the DFS article, it's far less intrusive than those full screen pop-up ads we've had.

We're free to ignore it, as we could a tech article on something outside our interest. Get over it.

You'd be surprised - it's been a fair few years since the company specialised in books. Heck, they're trialling groceries - Amazon Fresh - in the US.

Amazon in the UK have supplied dried goods for a long time. I worked in the Swansea warehouse for 6 months a couple of years ago, and you'd be surprised at the vast amount of things like washing powder or nappies that we shipped, The massive range of goods that Amazon sells is mind-boggling - including sofas!

I think all of you are a bit cynical tbh, hows this? A chance to win £500 or not? Stop complaining people are richer than you! The moneys out there get it!

So basically you've got a competition awarding those with either nice, desirable, crazy or humorous setups. This effectively excludes so many of your readership who have 'average' setups, who by your own words have no chance of winning as they are not "intriguing, impressive or just plain weird".

Next time, how about a competition open to everyone?

I think many are assuming the winner will be someone who has had the time and money to devote to their rigs, but maybe my comments and those of others will change that.

It would be nice to see a winner who hasn't spent ££££ on their rig and its mods.

It is open to everyone (well in the UK anyway). Yes it is likely to award those that have clearly taken some time and effort over their rigs, but that's the point - it ties in nicely with the site's modding community.

See the couple of examples we've added to the article. Neither are megabucks setups but would easily be in with a chance. I'm also put in mind of a couple I knew that used to have their screens positioned next to each other but facing opposite directions so they could see each other while playing, and no doubt play footsie under the table. And trust me, their setup was not expensive.

Wow..... I never thought to take a look at DFS the last time I needed to buy PC gear. Since when did they start selling PC kit? Does it mean that all the stuff they sell is on a constant sale?

Hmmm, I recall checking personally whether all the tickets had been received. Must've missed one out. Sorry about that. I know all the tickets were sent.
