Every SINGLE time I play an audio track, whether it's an mp3, wav, mid, wma, WMP11 skips ahead one or two seconds into the song.

It's been going on for a few months now and for just listening to music it's not so bad but I need to be able to play little one or two second wav sample files because I have my WMP library setup to browse all my samples very easily.

I've checked everything I can think of. Crossfading enhancement and all the rest of the enhancements are off. Really rackin' my brain trying to figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers & Thanks.

edit: Nevermind this post, I mixed things up a bit.

It's the very bad bug in WMP11.

    Your music is destroyed. Permanently.

WMP11 corrupts the few first seconds of the songs you play. There's a hotfix available, but you propably haven't updated to it? :eyebrow:

Eh? I thought the bug was only in Windows 7 version of Media Player? And MS released a quick fix. Afaik, WMP11 is fine. I'd google codecs.

    I thought WMP11 was only for Win7.

Windows Media Player fails as a media player, it has corrupted every one of the songs you've played and destroyed the first few seconds of the songs. You may be able to use them with another audio program (like iTunes, Winamp, etc) in the hopes that they aren't actually completely destroyed permanently, besides the hotfix people have mentioned there is no fix known to me besides what I've mentioned.

Are you using SPDIF? If so, the reciever needs a second to sync the stream everytime playback starts, i have the same problem so i have to use analog outputs.
