Hey Folks, Had a problem (see quote below) which is now solved but got a new one. I the content page to show Roman numerals but it just shows 1 2 3 instead rather than numerals. Any idea how to fix it so the content page shows numerals?
If Word 2007 is the same as 2003 (the version I'm using)... You just need to re-start the page numbering at each of those points. Go 'Insert' - 'Page Numbers' - 'Format' and you should find what you need. Number format drop down gives you the numbering styles, page numbering toggle allows you to re-set the number sequence. If it's not the same I'm afraid I can't help. What's the dissertation on?
Yo, sadly its not the same thanks to the silly ribbon system ... thing. BUT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGzz2ZmLrFw MUWAHAHAHAHA! Anyway, dissertaion is on Cinema Box Office systems. And I wish to the highest heavens I never picked it, ho hum, what you going to do. Ta thought Wormy. You helped to make me google it in the right direction.
Ach, I can't watch youtube at work but glad you found what you needed. Cinema Box Office? Sounds interesting. I'm moving house soon to a place with a little local cinema, seats about 60, with a good old fashioned ticket machine under the counter that gives you those little coloured stubs from a big reel Good luck with the diss
Cheers Wormy, but I am again stuck. Can't figure out why my content page won't show Roman numerals rather than just regular numbers. Think I shall change the title see if I can get a hand with that next. EDIT Edited original post to reflect new problem.
The way I think you can do this is right click on the contents page "box" (for a better word) and there should be format settings. This allows you to change numbering and check default standard formats (same for referencing)
hmmm I seem to have been mistaken what i meant was the built in styles but that failed. You need to do it like Wormy said but you probably need to press the Update contents section which should update the page numbers to the roman numerals
