at first when i seen the vid i was like "i swear thats byker bridge" then i realised you're from newcastle too. Incidently i go round that roundabout (but i go down the steep bank instead and up the other side as i work on the quayside).

That petrol station has notably some of the most miserable staff ever to walk the earth, and its been that way for years and years (theres even a Viz top tip for the staff to cheeer up in a mag a few years back!).

Watching that video in the OP is a bit like driving when playing Vice City - you keep wanting to be able to look left and right to see what's coming!

    Snap,

If I was still working on the quayside I might have met you for a beer.

I'm back in N/Shields, was at The Cycle Hub on the Ouseburn for a few months last year. If I ever get a cam I'll get a video of my ride to work.

It would take me longer to get the camera out than the actual drive would take lol... interesting idea. On seeing the title I was sure this was going to turn into an 'accident on the way home' thread :)

    Nope :p

I don't have a dash cam at the moment but if and when I buy a GoPro, I'll record my drive to or from work some day. It's quite interesting - I stick to the lesser trodden path because it's much quicker than going through the major towns. The roads are crap, but I've gotten to know every pothole and hump since starting in September so I can avoid the dinged rims and bulged tyres :thumb:

It's ~27-28 miles, takes me approx 40 minutes, 45-50 if traffic is bad or simply if I get stuck behind someone on the aforementioned minor roads who doesn't know them and brakes for every hump, kink and corner.

Drive home today was a 3h20m slog through biblical levels of rain up from the south, can't imagine anyone would want to watch that.
