thought i would share what i found.. i think it is a pretty decent price http://www.ginger6.co.uk/asus-512mb-pcie-retail-p-32399.html?G6SID=fc8e025df847f1f2fc4c061c261994ee and http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-250
GTX is more expensive but is worst in all aspect than the much cheaper version that came out later called The GT. The GS was the light version of GTX released before the GT. However, a second generation of GS came along which is a light version of the GT and not the GTX. What a mess, I know! The 9800 GTX is a renamed 8800GT with tripe SLI support. Then the 9800GTX+ is the same, just using a smaller die, making produce a little less heat, but performance gain was minimal. The 250, is the 9800GTX+ on a smaller board (in length), and uses 10W less on average. There are other differences but the performance is still close to it's predecessor which is close to the 8800GT. The way I see it, is a laptop that gets re-released with added USB ports on each version.
http://videocardshop.co.uk/product....876-0UTCQS@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@&prodid=GX-260N-ADB Im keeping an eye on these babies. They are £150 at scan. They should be good for 7000+ points.
Aye Aye Aye.. Doesn't mean you have more of one thing that it's necessarily better. I mean YES it is better but insignificant level in real world result. You are better to go with the GTX 260, 275 then a GTS 250.
Yep all come down to price vs performance. And for me temps and noise. Them 8800gs are relly good value for £35 a piece. Avg around 3200ppd. Im interested in seeing what gt300 series does in terms of performance and what it may do to the price of the older cards.
Correct, and the 2x that I have are awesome overclockers with the right cooling. They run close to the same spec as 9800's
I got a 250GTS. It's not bad for folding and only requires 1 6-pin connector which is a bonus for me personally.
