And THAT'S why I shrunk my icons and text down as small as they go for the screenshot, and exported a track list from iTunes.

    That seems like a waste.

According to my math, in 129 gigs, I have 56,000 songs. The average bitrate is 192 mp3.

Nah, it just seems like the quality of hazza's collection beats the hell out of yours. :)

And cheers on the guy who had All That Remains! Although I have yet to see Dragonforce through my quick glances... :p

I have many albums in lossless formats. I did use a pretty big word in my last post though. The word: Average.

I generally find that people with music libraries in excess of a few thousand downloaded albums are usually compensating for a lack of good taste.

I used to have a few thousand tracks in my library, and still have that lying around on a backup HDD somewhere. However I've only been building up a CD collection for a couple of years now but don't have anything in my music folder that I, or at least my parents, don't own on disc. Any tracks I'd downloaded before that I don't have on album now just find themselves on my Amazon wishlist. Thus I've got a good few hours ripping to go (just had laptop back from repairs) before I'll be posting anything.

That's my rather simple collection, it doesn't quite convey how I like to get hold of discographies. For example, in the Genesis folder, I've got all the albums they've released. And no, I'm not 50. I just like Genesis...

If you like that one maybe you'll like fabriclive 13 (J Majik) and fabriclive 25 (High Contrast).

with hdds as cheap as they are theres no real reason not to go lossless tbh...
I even transcoded the lot into mp3 for my portable (tho thats not included in that folder properties pic)

its still 50 squids on amazon. damn you and your tempting me!

Yeah, that's why I don't bother with lossless anymore. I used to, but trying to keep two copies so I didn't fill up my portable immediately was just annoying.

That and I don't hear a difference at all. And my wallet thanks me for it.

Actually, my real problem with storage space isn't the price of the hard drives, but actually putting them somewhere. I can't deal with juggling enclosures around, and setting up a proper NAS is quite expensive - stupidly so if I want to be able to drop in more than four drives.

    And my foobar stats.

I have some embarassing stuff, it's mainly from ripping for my family and then not deleting it.
There's more stuff really, but it's a bit spread out. That's the bulk of it.
Thinking about reripping my CDs to FLAC.
