Found a website with construction photos and a daily news update on the Burj Dubai. You have so got to see this. Vertigo just looking at pictures. Truly amazing engineering. http://www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com/ John - in awe
That is just insane, the photos must not do it just because you cannot get a scale of that from the surrounding skyline. One of the pictures taken from something about level with the top, looking down, that is an amazing picture.
ZOMFG!!! i knew this thing was huge, but i don't think i'd realized just how big it is until i saw this picture. look at those skyscrapers in the foreground.
Meh, been there, done that for 4 years..... If anyone wants to know, that red arrow is the hotel complex where I opened a restaurant the first year I was in Dubai.
Sometimes, when you see something, you can't help but scream "zOMFG!!!!1!". Just look at that thing! Anyone been following the battle of the Burj's? (i.e. Al Burj vs. Burj Dubai)
That is somewhat amazing, I wonder is the builders up the top there just where parachutes instead of safety harnesses. That would be one hell of a base jump
I wonder if they have to control the regulate the pressure in the elevator so people's ears don't start bleeding - and if they have to keep tabs on the amount of oxygen available on the upper floors, like mountain climbers do...
Apparently it sticks through the clouds on a cloudy day and it's not even finished yet! I checked out the wikipedia page for this a while back, and apparently there are LOADS of plans for megastructures like this, a lot of which are in Dubai..
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't see some thing higher than 1000 in Dubai ( Burj Dubai ) !?!!! Were do you live in Dubai?!
You want to tell me that south Africa have higher building than Dubai?! Sounds impossible! His Profile says he live in Dubai !!!
building so high is like sending hand written invitation on gold paper to basejumpers he doesnt mean on a building that high, but a mountain.
Errr, yeah, NOW I live @ 1,500 meters. In Dubai I used to live at -3 according to my gps. Always freaked me out, being below sea level a few kilometers from the water. I keep that on there because my Agency is HQ'ed there and I travel there about 2-3 times a month.
lol why you still write that you live in dubai lol. So you are telling me that we here in dubai live at -3 ?!!? but how?! I can see the gulf and we are top of the gulf level. That burj Dubai will use A/C 24/7, So no problem at all. Here you can't live without A/C Running 24/7!
