No I'm just saying it's a feature that some people ask for at this level - the Valet experience. If you don't care for it then it doesn't matter, and just go with the results and price :thumb: I personally don't care for it at all, but I do prefer a UK RMA service centre for PSUs because they are EXPENSIVE to ship.

Skiddywinks - there's a new Enermax 1,050W out shortly which we'll be testing. It's Enermax and not CWT build so we'll see how that works too. :)

1000w output @ 87% = 1150w at the wall. That means the PSU has 150w to dissipate, not 130.

Which are not modular - that's what the "H" in the model number means.

    Yea now I'm with you - 87% of 1,150W not 87% of 1,000W.

"While the industry is clearly geared to "real world" testing scenarios, in this situation anything we throw at it should be at most equally stressful in the real world."

    wat.

there's a few places i couldn't follow what you were trying to say. maybe it's just cause it's late here.

I have one of these and it has a distinct electrical hum when powered from the mains (it doesn't matter if the power supply is on or off, though it is a little louder when the power supply is on). Has anyone else found this?

It's not annoying me too much at the moment but that's probably new computer excitement - I've not had it long so there is till time to RMA...

Bindibadgi; do you guys have an ETA on that? I need to buy a PSU rather sharpish really, but since it's Enermax, I am willing to wait a while :p

:D Something in the back of my mind knew there was a problem with it.

    Appreciate the confirmation.

That's the minor dilemma I had, 1000W and modular? Or would a HX620 do? What would modular really do for me?

I found that I'd only have one of the strings of modular cables unplugged anyway, so plumped for the TX750. I may have to rma it soon as I think the fan's catching on the plastic guard. It makes a very minor noise, but my previous Hiper 530w by comparison is quiet!

oooh, sounds interesting. Problem is, I need the new rig going by the end of September. A month is a fairly long time to not have a PC in Uni. Are there any details out about the new range yet? It's hard to know whether to just buy this, or wait out the new Enermax, when even a google search only comes up with 2 hits and no information on it!

Yes we have a RMA centre in Milton Keynes. :)

    Free hotline: 0800 0556154 (9 - 5 weekdays)
    Support Forum : www.enermax.co.uk/forum
    RMA email: returns@enermax.co.uk
    - typical turn for an RMA is 2-3 days.

    Dimensions : 150 (w) x 86 (h) x 190 (d) mm

I can't really say at the moment.

Not even a little clue? I'm expecting more than this PSU, but how much more I don't know...

Anyway, thanks for the info thus far. I think i might still just have to buy the HX1000W =/

It will be very, very crap quality.

In fact, all those extra's look exceedingly poor.
