I personally enjoy the lowest possible gas price, I would prefer that diesel would be cheaper than gas. At the current prices its almost the same cost to drive my big ass GMC Yukon as my TDI Jetta. The station down the road is selling 87 octane for $1.70 and diesel for almost $3 a gallon, with the price difference its almost punishing me for driving a more economical vehicle.

I hear people around here talking like its ok again to drive the most thirsty vehicle they can find as if the price will stay low, as much as I hate to say it the $5 a gallon gas was a good thing keeping some vehicles off the road.

And it looks like camel piss is more expensive than milk?

well it's not to bad here in ottawa. the gas was 76.5/L Cent's. which is around 3-4 bucks a gallon i think. But i am not complaining since i have an elantra and it's still pretty cheap to fill up :)

Yep, because a smoother burn from a higher octane fuel produces more torque, so therefore it needs less fuel to do the same thing.

Gas where I live is $1.70 per gal. I've noticed that I get less MPG since the price drop. Which makes me think they either are shipping at the wrong temp or using a less efficient fuel.

When the air is colder your engine is also more efficient too - the air density is higher and there's less moisture when it's very cold. It's the whole reason for the turbo + intercooler part. Although if you're only driving short journeys your engine will take longer to warm the oil + lubricants to optimal temps so that will affect your fuel efficiency.

I guess thats why in motor sport they have rules about the fuel temp then, they don't want them to get an advantage

Between $4-$6 works for me, and I even drive an 8-cylinder. More expensive gasoline means fewer illegitimate* vehicles on the road and, by deduction, filtering the owners of the then-fewer remaining gas guzzlers on the road as wealthy, stupid, or both.

*Illegitimate: BMW X3, GMC Envoy, Infinity QX, Lexus LX, Mercedes-Benz AMG, Hummer, nearly half of Ford family, and so forth
