Can anyone confirm this? and will we see a price drop here in the uk? i was going to get a 4850 at the end of the week but if there going to drop in price i can wait a little bit longer.
Saw it on Fudzilla. They apparently got it from Dailytech. I bet it's true. Question is, is it only for the colonies for Mother Europe as well?
Hopefully by April the price cut will have taken effect, birthday CrossFire here we come Also, does a 512MB model work ok in CrossFire with a 1GB model?
I've been of the understanding that you can mix different mem size cards with each other ie 512mb +1gb. As here it shows which combination of cards may be used in Crossfire with each other.
that's unbelievably cheap. wonder what nVidia will do, can they afford to sell the 55nm gtx260 at $150?
I'm 99.99999999999999% sure that DorkSterr is correct. Both cards have to render the same basic image, and the only way to accomplish that is for both cards to use the same settings, which means the lowest ones (speed, size of memory etc.).
Ah, well there go my plans for 1x1GB and 1x512MB models linked up xD Cheers. Still, price cuts are good, drives competition and all that
AHH there goes my plan for my current 4870 512MB + my friend's "old" 4870X2 2GB (when he upgrades)! I just gotta get two 4870X2's then.
upgrading from a 4870X2? lol, i guess some people are just gluttons for credit card punishment in any case i certainly hope the 55nm 260's come out with a better price due to this, i might just be tempted with the april loan......
