Nicely presented site - not for me though, or probably many other members of the forum as we like to get the best deals and put everything together ourselves! Looks a little pricey and the vagueness of "6GB DDR3 RAM" will not appeal to the tech savvy.
Thanks , and I know I was toying with the idea of putting Corsair 6GB of DDR3 at 1366 MHz (4-4-4-18) but then I run the risk of confusing newer buyers . And the prices should be lower by tomorrow we are just putting the finishing touches on the pricing system .Our aim is to make it only just higher than building your own but also with that you would get piece of mind about technical support and warranty.
Welcome! Remove: Magento Theme by Templates Master. It looks like unprofessional. Find faster hosting, pages take several seconds to load after clicking and don't feature very much. Add: About us detail! Who are you? Why should I buy from you? What guarantee do I have that a) my credit card details are safe b) I won't receive a box full of air c) You will honour a warranty claim and how you honour them: part only or whole system return. Drop the thermaltake cases, go for Antec 300/200. You seem to stock a lot of different cases, rather than just a select few that would decrease your warehouse space needs. It's heading in the right direction
If that is the case I suggest doing something like, Begginer and Enthusiast settings for people who understand PCs, if you put too much info you'll alienate Begginers and too little and you'll alienate Enthusiasts Another thing is a DIY package where you pick all the parts of a computer without assembly, helpful for the first time builder who doesn't know what they need for a computer - we were all newbs once but we've learnt Finally, Motherboard Bundles are quite helpful to people (Motherboard, CPU and RAM), you may wanna check that out? P.S. Are you gonna stock certain products but not others (i.e. - corsair and kingston but no OCZ or Crucial and Coolermaster and Antec but no Lian-Li and Silverstone) because when building my ideal PC I hate buying from 2 or 3 sellers, I'd pay extra to get it all from one... EDIT: Also, remember that AMD Rigs are budget gamers and so should be a bit less than i7 rigs and Btw... thermaltake M5 is too expensive for budget don't you think? And if you don't then Antec 300 has to be a better choice EDIT EDIT: £14 PSU!!!!! W00000000000T! Even if the first few don't blow up, maybe 1 in 3 will and thats your profit margin eaten by replacements/returns EDIT EDIT EDIT : About what bindi said about thermaltakes - I use to think they were good but then I found out about how most all of them have build quality issues, drop em hard - and for budget systems remember the famous brands who create sub brands for value (Lian Li's Lancool and Asus' Asrock)
I like this idea, but it would be quite hard to implement - people don't know how good they are - I'd just add a link such as "see more options (advanced users)" next to the RAM choices, which when clicked reveals other options with speeds + latencies. I think adding a 'build it yourself' option is kinda against the point of the site, but if you could still make a decent profit from doing it you might get some extra customers as long as your prices are competitive and your stock choices are wide enough (see post above about getting everything from 1 place). Good delivery options would also be a plus - I can't find how much you charge for delivery, but I imagine a fully assembled watercooled PC would be pretty expensive?
+1, indeed Same for Hard Drive aswell (Manufacturer + Cache + Rotational speed) and for Optical Drives (Read/Write Speeds and Lightscribe support etc... IDE and SATA) An advanced options button seems like your best compromise

Yeah, as i said i'm not sure what i was trying to say with that. I definitely did not mean to cry "ZOMG ADSPAM", i would have reported that instead. As for feedback, it would be nice if the navigation menu on the side would actually stay there as you start browsing, not just on the homepage. Also, are the product ad things in the header actually going to be clickable in the final version? Because they look nice but being able to click on it and go straight to that product's page would be an obvious feature. i actually expected that to happen. Finally, if you'd make builditplayit.gif just half as tall on the front page, you could use the other half of the space for product thumbnails.
I can see what you mean about having a advanced option I'm working on that at the moment. We are based the midlands in a small town of Evesham , and we are not looking for staff at the moment but will likely be in the future. All of your feedback has been brillant and is all being acted on. So anymore feedback is very welcome . Ideas we have also though of are having a forum and making specialist computers eg : Flight Sim Computers .
This. Also, enthusiasts really want to know what PSU they are buying. So put the info in there. I, for example, judge the professionality of a PC shop by evaluating how much they know/tell about PSUs. (so far NO shops I've ever seen have been professional...) Oh, and no possibility for 4GB of RAM in budget systems?
What kind of psu would you like and what kind of imformation ? We are working on a advanced version of the site too give more imformation .
If you wanna safe guard your products then take the chickens way out Do manufacturer only warranties for Cheap PSUs and make their warranties as short as reasonably possible but ALWAYS tell the customer this is how it works and always have an option for a more expensive branded PSU because people will choose them As for info,DRAM Speed & Timings, Manufacturer names on everything (except cheapo stuff) SATA/IDE info and things like that PSU Wattage, PSU Rails Current Ratings, all on advance setting (apart from SATA/IDE because that is essential for all and PSU wattage because you NEED to know)
The blue ad on the main page (build it your way) i'm sure I read 'Choose Pants' I agree with the slow server comment.. I know I'm in New Zealand but it seems very slow. Just a comment: You only seem to sell systems. As far as I can see, yes the initial sale will go to you, but as the systems get older the user will have to go to different suppliers to buy an upgraded video card/cpu/memory/hdd etc. Possible lost sales? Even offer the components you sell as part of the systems for individual sale, you will possibly unlock the possibility of sales to upgraders Ninja Edit: The top ad on the main page scrolls past too quick!
