Well, many of you may have found that after using IE8 for a few days/weeks that it starts to perform slow when opening new windows/tabs.

and I have managed to fix this problem by disabling an addon called: "Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper"

now my browser runs like it did the day I installed W7 again!

to do this, just bring up IE8 (if your currently not using it...) then press 'Alt' on your keyboard, Click 'tools' at the top left of the browser, and then click, 'manage addons'.

now look for "Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper" (without quotes ""),

now right click it, then click 'disable',

Now restart IE8 and everything should be running fine!.

    Good luck!.

    Use Firefox/Chrome/Opera :thumb:

Also, Java might not work 100% after disabling part of it..

I personally preferre using IE8 because I'm used to it.

I have both FF and GC installed, but I don't like using them so often (they're basically "emergency" backups)

Also, everything has been working fine for me since disabling the Java component!.

So it isn't a performance fix but a problem with the Java plug-in.

IE 8 only slightly faster than drawing the website by hand.

True, it may not be exactly a performance fix, but it will help the people who are experiencing this problem from the poor java helper plugin...

but if someone is suffering from a poor performing browser which is due to this poor plugin, I don't think that they'll be searching for a topic about disabling a java plugin,

anyone who knows how to fix it would not be searching for help on how to fix it,

and anyone who doesn't know whats causing the problem won't be searching for a guide on how to disable a poor java helper plugin...
