My father has bought an Acer X223HQ monitor but it will not work with our Dell Dimension 2350 desktop PC. When switching the monitor on, the Acer logo flashes up before going to a no signal screen. We have tried it on my more modern Dell PC with 2 different cables but to no avail. However, we tried it on a Toshiba laptop and it worked in this case. Are there any solutions?

hmm the only thing i can think of is that quite often dells have 2 monitor ports (one standard and one gpu upgrade) what is the situation for you? you should be using the one that is offset from all the other inputs

I think we need a little more information here.

When you use it on VGA do the computers detect the appropriate resolution for it? How old are your graphics drivers?

Have you been using DVI from your laptop?

Your Dell 2350 only seems to have VGA, so it might not detect the right resolution the first time out. Do you have DVI on the newer desktop?
