    Thanks!
@woody - that shine came at a heavy price. I still don't have feeling back in my fingertip.:hehe:

When I was making knives for fun and profit the polishing was always my favorite part. Bring out the shine! Wear the heavy gloves and PAY ATTENTION! Several knife blades embedded in the wall behind the buffer. Bolts and decorations I never did find. 3600 RPM and we have launch speed.

    Thanks.:D
@John - I screw them into a block of wood and let the wheel dig in. The finger was from sanding the hex sides smooth. I ended up with a square dent in my fingertip and a deep bruise.

    Thanks, Ringo.:D

-I figured the smallest fanguard would be the best place to start. The back of the SR1 radiator is going to gobble up some materials.
-First up: A whole *load of grooves.
    -More grooves...
-and a batch of black squares. What am I doing? Dunno. -Looks cool, though.
-I chopped up some MDF for sacrifice. This technique is making the loss nearly nothing, but I'm still going to be using massive amounts of plastic to make louvers.
-Here's all that stuff I milled sammiched around a Noctua.:D I still need to countersink the screw holes.
-My critical test fit question: Can I get these parts to snap together? Before filing the round corners, the answer was NO.
    -Filed parts fit great.
-Test fit on the case. It should look OK.
-The fit over the splice worried me, but it worked out. I should do something about the area where the splice drops down...
-I milled out some thicker ears using the material cut out from the fan holes. I would have made more progress, but it's cold as hell outside, and I really don't want to use a wetsaw in freezing weather.
-If I wait a week, it will probably be 70 outside again.:D

    Thanks again to my sponsors.:D

Thanks, B_C. Assembly is the easy part. Sanding and polishing is a b*tch, though.
@nutman - I use a wetsaw to cut up the big sheets. I need to chop a chunk free to make more fins. One cut equals ten minutes of setup, and getting sprayed with ice cold water.

I suppose we dont have to worry about your fingers then cheaps. Thats a rediculous amount of acrylic going into a fan guard, pure awesome.

    That you do.

If it's possible, do you still have the volute pattern for DDCs? I'm working on the res to Batman, and I could always simply make the pump part of...

Ah, Yes. Pump-res combos are cool.:D The last pump top I did I ripped directly from the Sketchup model, but the measurements I got from AngelOD are on page 3 of this thread. Are you going to do a lost wax cast?

    -'Nother update:
-I managed to empty my first can of glue. I decided this time to upgrade to the big mutha!
-Finished up the panels. Now I can clean up the frame edges. (Oh, boy! more sanding.:()
-I made a non-marring wrench for the bolts too.
...Yes. I'm padding a really light update.
-I milled out the rest of the fins. That's the CAM file number on the masking. At this point I realized I had to label everything. All these little sh*ts were just a tiny bit different, and getting just the first four I did sorted nearly drove me nuts.
-Test fit. I left one set long for the gap in the splice.
-I'm not sure about this picture. I think I was so happy to finish sanding that I snapped a commemorative pic.
-I'm gluing the cover together here. I taped the fan up and raised it off the base with quarters. I didn't want to accidentally glue the fan in place. The last side to go in is the one with the alignment grooves. It only goes on after the fins are in place.
-Whoo! check out my friction fit, baby!
    :eyebrow:
-Anyway... It took some work to get the last side under all the fins, but once in place it all stayed together nicely.
-I thought it was going to stick out too much, but it turned out to be shorter than the SR1 radiator with a fan.
-After the test fit, there was more sanding to do. Which glass do I dip the sandpaper in again?
    -Done.
-and here it is with a Noctua nested underneath. So that's 2 finished parts, and 10,000 unfinished ones.
...and there's another sandpaper shortage at Cheapskate land.:eeek:

Thanks again to my kick*ss sponsors!:D

Looks great cheaps! You should sell the fan cover and pump top designs to someone, they would look great in any case! I think they would look especially good in the acrylic cases (e.g. DD Tower 26).
