http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8638263.stm I was on the BBC today and came accross an article about 20yrs of Hubble, I like space and all that so thought i would have a look. But when I clicked to look at it I was instantly hit by what I think is a fake 1st image, but am I right, it is the BBC after all, surely they would of checked that some of the pics aren't hoax ones. Have a look and see what you think, I personally think that if its not fake then its the clearest sign that god exists and that he is pissed off at us as it appears in the top left that the gas cloud is shaped like a human, arm stretched up giving the finger, not only that but when you zoom in the finger is almost dead straight on one edge and even a hint of a nail. What do you lot think? Have the BBC been had??? Or is god really pissed with us?!?!?!?!

Well, first off, yes it's real. Second, it's not giving us the finger - as it were. If you look at the portion resembling the closed fist that one forms while flipping someone the bird, you'll see that it's directed in the opposite direction.
It would actually be the other way around - from our point of view we're looking at the "fist" from behind.
I'm not sure I follow you. To me, it looks like I am looking at the back of the hand making the gesture. From my perspective it looks like the universe is flipping me off.
I remember seeing a program years ago called in search for jesus's forskin I kid you not lol, And one of the religious icon's was female martyr's hand in a glass box giving the one finger sign.
Form a one finger salute, then look at your hand. The "widest bit" is left of your long finger with the thumb curled over your ring finger to the right. In other words, we're seeing the finger gesture from the palm side, therefore someone on this side of it is flipping the rest of the universe off.
