So, I've just signed up for the Beta, don't know when/if I'll get a key/download.

It appears to be Battlefield Heroes type of NFS (free-to-play, download game).

Looks interesting, seems like EA are freeing up a lot of their games recently, FIFA Online (Beta again), Tiger Woods Online (Beta again), Battlefield Heroes, and now this.

    Anyone else signed up?

^^^this NFS always felt way too arcadey for me and being this is a free online game and so targeted to have most mass appeal i doubt it will change from the formula.

That game was ace but shite at the same time, the modabillity of the cars was amazing, being able to pick everything from the shocks to the pistons and having to build the engine in the correct order was great :D

Too bad as soon as you actually went to drive it was like driving a rock on ice :/

So is anybody playing the beta? I've been playing it for 2 days now and so far it's quite good fun. Shame multiplayer racing keeps breaking though :(

    I'm playing the beta too.

Not that exciting, and quite laggy, but a decent amount of fun.

Be wary of shops offering a pre-order of this game - e.g. here - it's just the amount you pay worth of SpeedBoost (in-game currency) which is actually unnecessary as power-ups can be earned at the end of each race.

From what I gathered the Starter Pack was necessary in order to progress past level 10? As well as a few other perks over those who play for free.
