I can honestly say i've never heard of newzbin in my life! By the looks of things though, i'd say they're screwed!
Yer it was pretty much a forgone conclusion when the ruling went against them. Sad to see them go as it was the best usnet indexing site out there, but the MPA don't seem to realize that there are other sites out there that will expand to fill the void and so on and so forth.
What are people still using Usenet for? Google for your news, BitTorrent for your alt.bin and the rest of the internet for your porn. All without paying a fee.
newsbin is point to point downloading with no risks associated with p2p. torrent traffic is very easy to sniff and trace.
I used Newzbin heavily and was so sad to see it go down say 3 days ago? Sucks huh! Shall move onto the next site...
Speed, security and avaliability. Usenet rocks! As for newzbin... it was the best intergrated site (thanks to their API) avaliable and worked REALLY well with my usenet server, but i did see that it was screwed when it lost the court case. It got really barron in the last few weeks as everyone jumped ship. Never mind tho, got myself a new site to play with a new usenet software running on the server which is a much better implimentation (any nzb file gets sent to the server regardless) SABnzbd+
