Stumbled onto this one yesterday. Any entymologists on here that can help me out? It's quite large...
ahhhh wow, I haven't seen one of those recorded in ages its "Buggest Maximus Ickius". The reason it's so rarely recorded is becauses it's a scout and what happens is that 24 hours after someone see's "buggest maximus buggius" it comes back with the rest of it's nest mates and they then eat the witness. Oh Btw when it eats you can I have your PC?
That's what I thought, but doesn't the killer bug of the deep have four antennae? Makes perfect sense, and I will have to break out my zombie apocalypse survival kit as well as building a few flamethrowers. At least I will give them a good fight before being horribly devoured by my coming insectile foes. Food for thought though, is that as I have now shared it's image with all of you, you are also witnesses and as such, you can also be expecting a horde of flesh eating insects any day now. Aw shucks! It will be the end of us all I say ... the ... end ... of ... us ... all!
Common misconception actually. The Killer bug of the deep has 2 antennae, its the killer bug of the heep that has 4. They look quite similar and both speak Italian...
Ahh, now I understand. That explains why I thought it kept telling me to ... bugger a small horse while eating carrots dipped in peanut butter. Ah yes, that does look quite similar. I think you got it, however it being the "Buggest Maximus Ickyus" would be a lot cooler.
DO NOT WANT. I don't like bugs. It's not a phobia or anything, I just think most of them are creepy. I've seen full grown men go apeshit at the sight of a 5mm bodied spider. That's about 10 measures of wimp/***** greater than what I think when I see a bug, but I still don't like them
just wondering... was there a specific reason you wanted to know? Because to be perfectly honest, I would have just crushed it without giving it a second thought.
Longhorn Beetle is the old name. New name is Vista Beetle or Server 2008 beetle, dependant on exact variant. Also - it's not a bug - it's a feature.
Aye. +rep. And the bug isn't too icky looking. As long as it isn't a spider or a cockroach, I'm fine with it. I'd probably just point the sucker to my cat and have great entertainment for half an hour... Or then just throw the damn thing out.
I was just curious. I am not particularly attracted to bugs, and frankly I find their kind - in spite of all their contributions to the ecosystem - somewhat icky. However, whenever I stumble upon a particularly large one I find myself wondering what it is - hence the question. Crushing it however ... well, the merest thought of doing it sends shivers down my spine and raises my neck-hairs. I couldn't possibly knowingly bring myself to doing something like that. I am the kind of person who traps wasps whenever they get into our home and set them free outside. Aye. Personally I found Longhorn to be a much cooler name for an OS than Vista
