Do want! Only if he's heavily involved though... And only if it doesn't slow down Batman 3 :thumb:

sounds a lot like the general premise of Assassins Creed to me, but with a lot more scope and freedom for the scenarios once you're in the anim-.. "dream" *ahem*

Hmm. Anyone remember 'Enter the Matrix'?

Games based on films do not work and vice versa.

That game wasn't great, although it run fun to run through it at full speed.

And generally your right but it doesn't mean it can't, there are exceptions, and this definitely has the basis of a good start.

    Good!

and if its at least two years of delevopment, even better!!... that means a game well done with ideas made exclusively for it!!

We all know what happens to games made just for propaganda for the movie. THEY SUCK!

Alternative interpretation of inception: if you try to run a VM in a VM in a VM in a VM, everything gets very slow.

Half the film felt like it was a game anyway, I can see this working quite well.

I agree that just about 90% of games made to promote the movie do suck and you can tell how rushed they have been.
However some games based on movies are extremely good.
Some of the lord of the rings games come to mind.

if they really do take their time on this, and expand on the film in the right ways, this could be amazing

or it could be a stellar flop, long development of a great idea doesn't always equal greatness either - spore anyone?

as paisa666 said, it's the games that are bought out to lauch with the movie that tend to fail, exploitation of the concept and the tie-in factor rather than making a decent game

Well I won't be looking at the game of it - I thought it was an incredibly weak film & a huge let down from the trailers and his Batman films. It started off well, but got progressively sillier, clichéd and predictable as it went on. Annoyed I wasted £10 of good beer money on it to be honest.

Good special effects though, I suppose that's the main thing...

I just don't want what I consider a good film to be tarnished by a crap game.
Actually, Batman AA is strongly based on the comics rather than the films.

HAH won't work. (even though Inception the movie was awesome all ten times I've seen it)

Name one movie that produced an excellent video game based on that same movie.

    None.

The thing I find interesting, which could save it from being like many other movie games, is that it's not described as "Inception: The Video Game". It clearly says that it would be a game based on the Inception world.

That implies that players will not assume the roles of any of the movie's characters or follow any of the movie's story. It would likely feature some other group of people on their similar adventures.

My only complaint is that the thing which people find most interesting about the Inception world is impossible to capture in a video game: the infinite creativity. In a pre-developed world such as a video game the player can't truly create anything, only restructure what's available. I think this would really hurt the prospective game.

Setting everything else aside Joe and Docodine are right. Chronicles of Riddick and Goldeneye are both great games.

They're several games that are good that are set in the "universe" of a film, but are there actually any good games where you play the movie plotline?
