Wotcha folks Im off for surgery in a couple of weeks and I then have the pleasure of 6 weeks at home with my arm strapped across my chest. (Yay, time off work, booo cant cook christmas dinner this year....) Anyhow, Im wondering if anyone could be kind enough to suggest a few games that you can play with one hand, to see me through some of the mega boredom of the next few weeks. My usual games are things like Civ V and Ive bought Machinarium which I can deffo play one handed Can anyone think of any others that I could pick up and play for a few weeks? I think my pc should be able to cope with most newer releases. Many Thanks!
most strategy games can be played one hand some the command and conquers or starcraft the witcher titan quest some of the flight/space combat games can be set up for one handed play, so darkstar one, freelancer Kotor and kotor 2
Most RTS games are pretty much one-handed. My current fave is Dawn Of War II and Chaos Rising. Company Of Heroes and its two expansions are even better. I'm sure there's a "most fun you can have with just your right hand" gag to be had somewhere. But we're all far too mature for that, yes?!
Deffo not, going to be a lot of time to fill after all..... The Witcher is a great shout, been meaning to have a look at that for ages and diablo II might be doable too. Just have to make sure I can get the keyboard shortcuts I need onto mouse buttons. Might even have to look at (wisper it) Football Manager I guess. Thanks for the input folks!
Dammit, I had no idea on an answer but opened the thread just to make the obvious joke figuring that no one would be more childish than me. Now I know better.
This will keep you amused for six weeks, buy all the Command and Conquer games EVER released and play them on hardest settings.
Agreed! Of the entire series I do prefer the Red Alert titles though. Red Alert gameplay not quite as good as the pure C&C titles? Maybe. Hammy acting? Definitely! Hot girls of Red Alert? Oh yeah! Joking aside, it's amazing how good some of the early games were. The very first Red Alert is still great. We are so lucky that technology today gives the developers (and us) the ability to better deliver their fantastic ideas for truly fun games.
raptor call of the shadows on GOG for £5 Red alert 2 (although to be good you need keyboard shortcuts) how about doom im sure you could manage that using the numpad
If I were in your place, I'd find a cosy pub somewhere and curl up with Advance Wars (the first one) on the Gameboy Advance. A fantastic little RTS game for your pocket
Thanks folks Im going to pick up some RA goodness this weekend, along with Dungeon Siege if I can find it Plenty of games suggested here to keep me happy for a few weeks, and I thought I might learn to write in c++ as well. Will have to see how annoying one handed typing is. Also, thanks nemo - think I might pick up a GBA for christmas now
+1 to that Although I only have Entrenchment, but playing it with the Distant Stars mod is truly awesome. Can take a while though, shame about no single player campaign
I disagree, if you wanna be good at it, you really need both hands for quick hot key presses, but if your playing the story on casual and you wanna have fun, you really only need the mouse. Anyway, if your looking for something new, theres alway the weekly flash point and click games If you want a real game, do you want a fresh experiance, or just a fun game? If you want a fresh game, try dwarf fortress WARNING high learning curve if you want a fun game, then you really just want those point and clicks I mentioned earlier
