Energy drinks are the wee of the spawn of the devil's red headed step child. At least scientifically speaking.

Mountain Dew Energy is over here now, it's great. The original Dew is pretty tasty too even if it's full of corn syrup.

Mountain Dew Energy gets my vote too. It's got a UK distributor and I've seen it in at least one of the big supermarket chains, so it should be easy enough to find. Even though it's got more energy & sugar than Coke, it feels lighter on the tongue.

A cheesecake review would be good though.

Bored at work or forced to write something...

Anyone who need reviews like this to pick his favourite [energy or not] drink require psychiatric attention/detention, not access to the PC.

   .

:) My favourite is either coffee with 2 & half sugars or cappuccino, energy drinks tip me over the edge & make me crazy & twitchy so I avoid lol :D.

I've no idea what the CPC/Bit-tech obsession with energy drinks is about, their promotion in the mag has always pee'd me off. Is this something the staff has decided to do or is it imposed? I can't see why they have a place in the mag and the drinks are no good for anyone, they don't give you energy, you just borrow it from the future. If your knackered all the time, change your lifestyle/diet and get more sleep. Yeah, people use them but why is a tech site promoting them? [/grump]

Not sure if it's something you all can't get your hands on or if it just wasn't chosen, but Amp Energy is the "true" energy drink variation of Mountain Dew. It's got the caffiene boost and taurine that you'd expect, but is kept quite sweet and sugary because of the Dew moniker.

For exactly the reason you said, the majority of their readers are interested in them. Just look at all the people discussing their personal favorites in this thread. Look at the Bawls G33k B33r, energy drinks are a substantial part of the tech enthusiast/gamer culture.

I'd rather play starcraft for an hour with a can of beer than 2 hours with can of energy drink.
I don't really get it either.

Regular blue BAWLS is still my favorite. More cream soda than chemical and good with a mountain dew chaser.

Relentless Juiced Tropical is lush, its not watery and cheap tasting, very pleasant. I also love Monster Ripper ( yellow lettering on the can )- that stuff is more addictive than crack...

We had that at work briefly & I tried some; we stopped selling it shortly afterwards- no taste really, like watered down normal Irn Bru; we sell sh!t loads of the regular ~50p cans of Irn Bru though, much nicer taste and still sugary as heck.

Those Mountain Dew flavors aren't even sold as energy drinks here.. They're just flavored Dew. Livewire is my favorite one, it glows.
