I think it could be done. If I understood correctly it would only be some guiding grooves and things running along those grooves. I do think the current design is nicer, though,.

i definitely prefer the first design.
this doesn't look that it could be cooled that well

 

Yeah the tube isn't really related to the first design, it's just something that I thought. Would be suitable for NAS, though, as some Atom + bunch of hard drives doesn't need much cooling.

 

thats true, but i would prefer a rectangular design, im not really a fan of an entirely tube design. but thats subjective i guess.

I already thought I could use one of those as a stand for a speaker and then make a dummy one for the other speaker It's all about multi purpose furniture!
