Come with me on my trip to Dubai! The view from the tallest building in the world. Largest fountain feature in the world... 458 Italia!!! The only Armani Hotel...again...in the world. Another italia. Only 7 star hotel in the world. This car...sexy as. Atlantis, largest aquarium in the world. We are on the tip of the palm jumeria. You can also float through a shark tank! Dubai is quite large as you can see. 880m tall, the next tallest is the Taipei 101 at 600m....Talk about raising the bar. 599 GTO...*jizzzz* And finally, the Xbow...
Dubai, Clearly a place where money doesn't really mean much. Amazing what they have achieved though. Sam
Your shots are gorgeous as ever, nice one! As Sam says though, it seems like (as I've heard from others about it and Abu Dhabi) a bit of a wealth capital... which I believe is part of what's wrong with the world in general, especially the middle east. Look at how much wealth there is there, but go a few hundred klicks north-west into Iraq and see how much poverty there is. It just seems wrong to me.
Drive an hour to the neighbouring emirates and see how much poverty there is in the same country. Or go just out of the city into the labour camps with subcontinental people living in 3 stack bunks, crammed into hot wrank rooms who earn $5/day (although, you can live for less than that!) It's a bit of a twisted place to be honest!
I hate the place and everything it stands for. It's ostentatious and self indulgent and furthermore, unsustainable. When the oil/gas, and therefore the money, runs out. It'll be reclaimed by the desert. I would like to go and experience the place though. Even though i'm fairly sure that it would only compound my existing views! And nice photographs btw.
Like has been said, you don't have to go that far. Also this is the reason why I just can't think of going to Dubai any time soon. Bet it would be wonderful to see everything that money can buy, but I just couldn't really help thinking about all the dirty oil-stuff that's gone into making those lucky few so damn rich. Anyway that's way off topic. Cool shots Djayness! I remember my first trip to Germany and just being with all the Porsches
The Khalifa is something else. The company I work for did some work for the lightning protection on that. I can't wait to see what the proposed Mile Tower in Jeddah is going to be like, at 1600m it will be double the Khalifa and is due to be completed towards the end of 2014 at a cost of around $15bn........
A one mile high tower?! HTF they do that?! You have to admit... despite all our shortcomings, as a race we humans are pretty awesome
Well me, Chuck Norris, Charlie Sheen and David Hasselhoff are awesome, im not sure about the rest of mankind.
The hoff isn't that awesome... certainly not enough to be on a list with Charlie Sheen, Chuck Norris and you! I'd say Sly Stallone belongs on that list more than Hasslehoff does
Beat me to it, great shout! Lovely pics, certainly a place i'd love to see but not currently at the top spot. Great camerawork
As everyone else has said, well spotted. I was going to say "hang on, you're wrong there" because I thought you said "There isn't a 599 GTO" The Cali is gorgeous and all, but I still love the shape of the 430!
Must suck to be rich there, coming out of the local 7-11 and not remembering which of the five red Ferrari 458 italia's is yours.. I bet driving a rusty beaten up mini would turn more heads then the latest flashy ferrari over there. but great pictures though! they did create some engineering marvels there.
