Wait, so In a game that has a pretty fractured community (Pubbers and Pro's, What Hats, crates and keys ect)
valve has introduced ANOTHER tier of community separation?
Oh well, Its not like Tf2 is very expensive anyway so I suspect this will be used by players as a form of demo

Tbh never understoof this whine. Don't wanna participate in hats and trading, then don't, simple.
You can quite easily play the game without any of this getting in the way still.

unfortunately you it's hard to block out everyone who is shouting

"GOT A HAT? WANNA HAVE THIS HAT FOR YOUR HAT?"
"GUYS I'M TRADING FOR BLABLA VINTAGE BLABLA STRANGE BLABLABLA"
"ANYONE GOT A KEY??? I NEED KEYS FOR MY 100000 CRATES VALVE IS GIVING ME INSTEAD OF WEAPONS AND HATS"

TF2 was fun. And then they kept adding hats. And kept adding them. When there were less hats then weapons everything was pretty good.

Now with F2Players community seperation will be even greater. Valve is giving those who have purchased TF2 before today get... guess what! ANOTHER HAT!

sigh. i remember the outrage when halos were given out. I'm sure that this is the way TF2 is going if it is to survive but I wish there was another way.

Looking forward to see how Valve combat people hacking since VAC takes ages to ban.

I haven't played TF2 but from what people said I'd always got the impression it was an FPS rather than a trading game. Oh well, you learn something new everyday!

I've stopped played shortly after the new weapon unlocks were added.....just didn't have the time or friends who played to get the achievements to unlock them and well I'd gotten L4D....I've kept an eye out though and it seems to be a completely different game to what it was and now also free........I think I need to get back in and build me some turrets :)

I stopped playing around the introduction of the trading. It all went a bit downhill there. The balance of the game was thrown out and the games were never as good.

Oh to go back to a clean version of TF2.

I still play TF2 from time to time and have never been affected, positively or otherwise, by the inclusion of all the extra bits. Apart from the extra weapons they've added, to me it still feels about 95% the same as the game that launched in 2007.

I'm suprised it took me so long to figure this out, but in a sense this could be a good thing. Imagine how many fresh players would be spilling into the servers, trying to ignite the the entire opposing team with a flamethrower with half a map's distance between them... so many easy points. Hell, I might even have a chance at looking impressive for once!

Do what I've done for the past 3 years and be part of a clan with your own servers. Solves all the problems people are moaning about.
