I have recently decided to make a a build after talking to being allowed to use the bending brake and a waterjet i decided to make a case that would be ultimate for air cooling as well as ok for water cooling. The theme is going to be something like a Japanese theme as i love some of the Japanese design's.The front panel will probably stay the same. The case will have space for two 120mm fans at the top and four 120mm fans at the front since i dont use any 5.25 devices such as dvd on my pc the front panel will only have fans. This will probably end up as a silent server pc.
Which one do you think is better guys? Here is an idea based on the front panel: Here is an idea i got from a book which was suggested by Bill Owen
The top one for sure. Out of intrest if your custom building a case why do you want to accommodate watercooling if your not going to use it?
I can totally see an excellent minimalist case coming out of the top picture. The bottom one looks like too much fan would be showing. I like to see minimalism sometimes so I put in another vote for the top.
Interesting design! I think I'm with the others on this one, and I'd love to see how it comes out, as you know I'm doing something similar.
I will later post the rendering as soon as i get all of the inventor parts into an assembly. I'm still thinking of the color scheme.Thinking about these options red outside and black inside or red inside and black outside or fully black or fully red.The color scheme will probably include red and black as the motherboard will probably be asus rog.
That looks awesome!!! Are you really doing it in all red? The part that I'm most concerned about is the slightly odd incline in the back-bottom of the case. Is that where you're mounting your power supply? You want the unit to be tilted downwards? Is that to allow the unit to be mounted upside-down and still have clearance from the floor to vent? If so, you're going to have some problems trying to get the PSU to be flush with the back of the case (it'll stick out at an angle and be kinda ugly or it'll leave a weird gap on the bottom). I notice the PSU cut out is actually higher though so maybe you're planning to mount the PSU upside-down above the incline =x. This again may be to give the unit room to vent, but I wonder how that'd look on the case =x.
This. is. awesome. I REALLY like the idea of kinda tilting the case forward, I do however think that it'd be a shame to make the case red, but that's just my opinion
Won't it make mounting the PSU awkward? Looking at that surely it won't support the full length of a PSU
Given the fact that your case's name is in Japanese and that the case was inspired by Japanese design I would keep some of the red in there. The Japanese flag has that big red circle in the middle of it, and I personally associate the color red with some Japanese things. *Some* red fits the case well, but having the entire thing be red would be an eye sore. If you really want to make it Japanese, make it red and white; otherwise I would say to go red/black. Since I kinda skirted the actual question, a black outside blue inside scheme doesn't sound like it'll be very good. Black outside is fine, but if you only have a view window (no LEDs) nobody's going to be able to tell that the unlighted inside of the case (blocked by the motherboard and other components) is blue. If anything, it might just look like black to them unless you use a really light blue (might be kinda ugly in that case) or they look really close.
Hey guys sorry for the lack of updates but there really not much going on In the meantime check out my new blog for design inspiration http://designers101.com/
