News Battlefield 3 beta opens

My issue with the multiplayer is that this is going to be a Pronefield 3 in multiplayer. It was a very bad decision by DICE to put it in the game.

 

I disagree, that's one of the things BC2 sorely lacked. A proper Battlefield game has to have the ability to go prone.

 

Sure. The problem is that sometimes 90% of the both teams are prone all the time. At least for now there is a bunch of idiots putting flashlights and laser guides on their guns. I especially love the snipers with the flashlight, it is a sort of "idiot indicator" - "Hey, i am a sniper and i am hidden here"

 

Imagine Jim Carey fighting his own hand... That's me right now, fighting myself from downloading the thing

 

Those aren't flashlights. That is the scope glare you get when you point a sniper scope at someone.

Going to agree with you.
Glad I hadnt pre-ordered, but if I had I would cancel it.
There are still too many bugs and the inability to properly configure mouse and keyboard makes it unplayable for me.

 

why is it asking me for a product code to activate the beta ?

 

Did you download the game through Origin or some other source ? If other source, then that answers your question.

 

nope it was through origin and it still asked me for a code. I cancelled and it downloaded anyway 0.o

Now i just need to see if it works

 

I tried it and straight away i fell under the map then i try to spawn and i go under the map, i do understand its a beta but its less than a month now since launch so should have very little problems at this stage

 

Anyone else find the server "browser" annoying?
All sorts of important settings are only available while you are deployed.
Who the heck wants to change key bindings while under fire?
If they don't fix those two thing at the LAUNCH, this game will be for sale on eBay. Hey it's the LE version!
Don't buy this game...I don't want the competition later this month.

Played it to level 6. I LOVE IT.

The gameplay is awesome. the weapons seem very authentic. You cant spray etc standing up which is good. graphics are great even on Low/Low/Low. Runs fine on my Q6700@Stock/4GB/5770 (Oc'd) - can push to low/med but prefer the extra FPS. Preording now.

The game is fun, some minor glitches but this is expected. I run crossfire and it seems to be ok, but with a few issues here and there. I dont understand why it dosnt start up full screen, or it loads it all up and I have to click the taskbar icon to get it going. (Alt+Enter is your friend to get it full screen)

Overall I am happy with the beta (demo), I'll be buying it for sure. Just because the beta has no vehicles and that should be fantastic with the retail version! The sound is crazy too, it actually sounds as if your there. Top notch rendering on their part.

The web launch is not a big deal. Origin is not a big deal. Get over it and enjoy an excellent game. Cry babies I swear...

Can't wait to play the bigger maps - seen some videos of reviewers playing the Caspian Border map and they are all pretty blown away by it, so much more Battlefield than the Metro map. I'm enjoying Metro but I guarantee it will not be one of the maps I go back to once the full game comes out as I want BIG maps with vehicles....that to me is what Battlefield is all about.
