Windows CustomPC and Bit-Tech BF3 Platoon and Server

I'm tibbyuk on BF3. Do I have to apply or be invited?

Is this full now. Only just got it today (adidan_cpc).

 

Yeah it's full up (stupid 100 member limit).

It'd be worth applying anyway though as Rogan occasionally goes through and removes any completely inactive members.

 

When I clicked on apply it just said full up.

Poo. Does that mean when I get around to doing MP I'll have to go onto other servers up against people who want to rant at me for either a/ being a noob or b/ cheating with very little scope in between?

 

Not at all, it's still entirely possible to join the CPC server. To be honest I barely use the Platoon system, all it gives me is the CPC clantag and the ability to see other players that are on my friends list anyway.

 

You can still set a clan tag without being in platoon.

I know the new maps are released tomorrow but is the server going to be incorporating any Rush games? Or is the general consensus to stick with conquest?

 

I too like rush. Players on the server don't seem to understand it though.

 

you can always add Rush to the map rotation, but i have found (from BFBC2 experience) that a mostly consistent server setting makes sure people come back, people will know what they are expecting.

certainly worth working out a few good rush maps to add to the rotation, something like 2 rounds of different conquest maps followed 1 rush map (2 rounds). currently there are 8 maps on rotation, so could do with 4 great rush maps. (and rename the server title to something like mixed gamemode)

Seine, Peak, Metro, Kharg, Caspian and Firestorm seems good as rush maps?

 

I see your point, people fear change that they don't make. I like to play on the CPC - BT server as working as a team is always at the forefront of peoples minds. Rush is a game style that really emphasis that.

In the case of maps, Peak is not bad as a rush map. But it's an awful conquest map as you just spend time stuck in the tunnels. I do like the idea of two conquest games then one rush but I can also see how that can break the flow as some players would leave if it changed to rush game and that's not what they wanted.
