Hi all, Just bought myself a OCZ 750W fully modular PSU and it should be in the post soon. My next port of call is going to be a graphics update. Im currently running with a friends old HIS HD 57701gb which is doing me fine (Really just play BF3), looking to get a cheeky update though. SYSTEM i5 2500k Asus P8Z68-V LX 8GB DDR3 2Tb HD H60 CPU HIS ATI HD 5770 1gb With the posiblity of a 60/120 solid state soon. Do I: a) Buy another 5770 and settle for now - £50-70 http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/ati_radeon_hd_5770_crossfire_performance,1.html b) Sell the 5770 and buy a 560 Ti with a view to getting a 2nd when I graduate and get a job in June? £110 = £160-50 [+ £150 for 2nd at a later date] Any advice + reasons appreciated. Thanks
The problem with getting a second 5770 now, is that you'll still want 2 560Tis later! You may as well get one now and see how it goes
Mhmm this is pretty much what im thinking, housemate said he would buy the 5770 back off me which is nice of him. stand Ti's? or overclocked? I probably wont overclock them myself.
There is no real price difference between the two, looking at Scan quickly the cheapest stock speed 560TI is £173.47 and you can have a pre-overclocked one at 900MHz for £179.47. It is free and easy to do it yourself with Afterburner, but if you want the backing of a warranty you may as well pay the extra £6.
Just note that because its preoverclocked doesn't mean it'll be stable though. I never trust preoverclocked cards since my mate had massive issues with his XFX 5870. Just do it yourself, doesn't take long
Can that void warranty though? Looking at HD 6870's as well little cheaper than 560 Ti's for only a little less performance.
Not really, its a bit of a gray area I think. Personally the 560Ti Direct CU2 get my vote just becausr they all have amazing coolers...
Whats your Budget Budget What is your budget ? the card in my sig cost me £165 delivered but was on special for less before i had a mess up and bought a dog before i ended up with this. i am very please with my performance increase up from an Asus 8800 GTS 512
