Ok, people with the Samsung Galaxy S (or previous owners ), your opinions, what roms wether they be gingerbread or ics, are the most stable at the moment? Im mainly looking for roms that are quick and stable with as much working as possible. Id prefer ice but ive noticed most are having 1 or 2 problems with memory cards, poor gpu performance or just general lagging. Ive tried to look over at XDA but for every saying how stable a rom is, their is another detailing problems. What roms are you running and what is your performance like? battery life etc...
Previous Galaxy S owner here - never failed me. Gingerbread was more than satisfactory. I've since moved on to the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich and am looking forward to Jellybean. /On topic: What you want sir is to cook up your own rom as I always did for best, personalised results.
No need to go anything further than gingerbread. I have the sensation now but still prefer the i9000 mainly because of the quality of the screen and the internal memory. After having had the HTC and the Samsung obviously everyone has there own opinion and I much prefer the Samsung. When i first got my i9000 it had 2.2 and it was stuttering but then upgraded the software and never had a problem
MIUI is fantastic on the i9000 ( and now my sgs2 as well). Fully customizable and you can change just about everything on the fly. Smooth as silk too and looks great!
Well, I decided to go ahead and stick ICS on my SGS, Im very impressed, lovely t ouse, looks brill and zips along nicely.............NO BLOODY FLASHPLAYER SUPPORT AARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH
Downloaded that from the app store aswell as dolphin HD, everytime I go to BBCI it sais thet my mobile device isnt supported. Think im going to back to Gingerbread, shame really, everything (so far) about ICS just oozes class, its a lovely OS to use and very quick aswell.
iv loaded up this rom on my Galaxy SGS http://code.google.com/p/ice-cream-sandwich-sgs/ everything iv tryed on it works a treat apart from bbc Iplayer app
I seriously enjoyed gingerbread yes certain tons you can do so much but you lose so much what you can do with just gingerbread. sent from HTC Sensation
Cheers for the link. Rep'd Totally agree, i've gone back now but it would be nice to have an ICS skin, there is a couple but there are problems using both so Im gonna leave well alone.
Not entirely relevant, but I have the Galaxy S2 rooted with ICS - Not the most stable set up with ADWlauncher installed. But I still love it to bits despite all the random crashes.
Went for miui 2.2.17 and patched with 2.2.24 patch, very quick, lovely animations and good battery life, applied 'black android them' just to add a bit of gloss.
Not to hijacked this anyone got the sensation and what ROM you using which is stable. sent from HTC Sensation
A mate of mine has a sensation. I'm not sure what ROM he is using but he said THIS site was very helpful.
