So i am constantly looking for new interesting cases to build my pcs in and happened upon this case on eBay. It is the actual case is the photo. Its a beautiful Lamborghini yellow, I don't know whether it is Giallo Fly or Superfly Yellow. Anyway I scooped it up for a song considering how much paint work is by Falcon Northwest. The case is in excellent shape with only a couple of hiccups. As it is so old it only excepts 80mm fans. So do I dare cut the case for larger 92 and 120mm fans or do I replace the old Coolermasters with new Panaflo 80mm? The other problem is that the door is so shallow that a fan controller (with knobs) won't fit. Hmmm.

Heres a parts list, yeah, its not super high end, but bring whatcha got right? This is all coming out of an old Dell XPS 510 modded for ATX mbs. I like that case, just time for something new.

    Adata Extreme 8GB
    Sapphire Xtreme 5830

    Corsair 650w psu
    DVD burner, etc. etc.

Mod the crap out of it! I personally would still add a fan controller, but make holes in the front door to access them when it is closed. Next up, bust open the shell, add a few 120mm fans, but add only silent fans. From there, go with a window on the side, and keep it along the lines of the lambo yellow. Maybe make the doors hinge in such a manner, that it would keep with the lamborghini theme, also. The possibilities are endless! Great cases, also! :)

That's a Coolermaster ACTS-201 or the like if I remember correctly.

Easy peasy to bung a 120mm exhaust fan in the roof. Look at some of the Wavemaster mods as the chassis internals are identical IIRC

Use a reversed fan controller-put in backwards in the end of the bays and adjust it from the inside.

I want to see a total restore, no cuts for fans, just work with the case and the fans available today and see how it works. I loved that case, and I haven't really seen a mod where 120s were put in one I liked.

Also, I like your taste in cases. I'm modding a boutique case as well. Now that we're finally able to get our hands on them, there are some wild mods being done.

I think I want to leave the exterior stock looking. I might get some 80-92mm fan adapters so there is more airflow. Hopefully it will be enough cooling. Pics coming soon.

That is one seriously blank canvas to mod. Really nice case. What do you have in mind?

The 201 was sans-door, whereas the 210 was with full glass door. I'm not sure what the half-alu door code is.

    Anyone remember it?

No, but I do remember that PSU, Enermax Noisetaker. I miss mine, but my Delta works much better.

So I found a 80-92mm fan adapter in one of my parts bins. I hooked that up to a Vantec Steatlh 92mm fan and attached it to the rear exhaust port. I have another adapter to go with the other 92mm Vantec Stealth I have for the roof of the case on the way from Performance-Pcs. I actually left the stock 80mm Coolermasters at 12v which is what they were from the factory and those things are damn loud. I cannot imagine trying to live with a pc this loud. Out they go now for some quieter ones or if I can fit it, a 120mm fan. Now that I had to put the stock heatsink back in that is too loud too...for some reason its running at 5113rpm?! Ugh.

So I need a new cpu heatsink. Can anyone recommend a good lower profile AMD cooler?

    Thanks.

Go for Thermaright Samuel 17 or Scythe Samurai.

I also have to get rid of this. Someone tried to scrape it off. Too bad, probably had original spec on it.[IMG]

Scythe Samari is only 35 bucks here in the US. That may be a good choice. Any other heatsinks come to anyone's minds? Damn, my Xigamatek worked great at 4 ghz. Now its just a paper weight.
