I think you have to be happy with your system. My biggest problem is that whenver you jump in with system upgrades there is always something in the pipeline or that comes out later that makes you say ' I wish I had waited!'. Build it, play it, love it!
Yes up untill about a week ago, my data drive is failing : ( Dont know if i should replace with an SSD and move all my data to my NAS.
Yep. My computer could be a heck of a lot better, but it still plays the vast majority of games on full graphical settings. And I'm content with scaling down the graphics a tiny bit in the minority of games which need it (Mind you, give it a year or two and I'll definitely be wanting to upgrade... I'm surprise I've lasted this long )
Yes, although that's to be expected considering it's less than a week old xD Of course it isn't particularly powerful, but it does what I want it to and is a monumental improvement to my old Pentium D DELL PC
In short, I'm content with the fact that I am not content with my rig. If I was content, I'd no longer need to fiddle with it. Where's the fun in that?
If I had the funds I'd replace my GPU which is by far the weak link in my build, then I'd replace my mobo as I hate the fact the temp sensors for my CPU ALWAYS read 90+ despite coretemp, realtemp and every other program under the sun reporting other wise, then I'd get me 4 low profile stick of ram so that I could actually use all 4, Perhaps then I'd be content for a short while Edit : In fact probably as the cheapest and therefore the first thing I'll do is replace the two akasa vipers that I've got as exhausts on the top of my case. They do shift a lot of air, but F*$k me they make a shed load of noise.
No, I feel the need to upgrade my GPU and monitor. I cannot shake the upgrade itch at all. Perhaps this is because following a rather tedious illness I am more or less housebound. When I have moved to a GTX680 and a 30" dell monitor what next? I have never given water cooling a try so there is a whole new world out there just waiting to be explored.LOL.
Definitely not happy with my rig at the moment. I want a second graphics card and more RAM and and SSD. Once that happens I will be happy
Im more than happy with mine...however I love spending money and I always get the itch to upgrade. Once im married "July 7th" ill have alot more money to spend so will prob upgrade again lol. I keep eyeing up the GTX 690's :S
Do it! You know you want to. BTW your new avatar is creeping me out. Bring back the sexy eyes, I beg you!
I want to add to my previous statement. I'm woefully unhappy with my rig due to the graphics card being somewhere in the post between here and Greece for the next week and a bit
Just wanted to revive this thread to say: Yes. I'm finally in a position where it does everything I want it to, how I want it to, and looks the bomb doing it. I don't think I've ever been in a position to say this before, but I am content with my build. Its actually quite relaxing. Ahhhhhh.
But how can you be sure those GTX 480 blocks are corrosion free without looking inside them? I'm evil!
Yep..........ish. I'd like a better case and a fast hard drive (or SSD ideally) but other than that it's perfect right now. Chomps though anything I throw at it so that'll do. (Admittedly the fact that it's a stonker of a chip helps, unlocks to 4 cores and will take an OC to 3.9 but I keep it at 3.6 to be sensible)
Having lost my job a couple of years ago and having no income other than my savings it's taken me a long, long time to get to this stage. I finished the final sleeving for the main cables with just the molex 4 pin cables and fan extensions to go. Main component still needed is a backplate for one of the 580's. Final stage is a new, bigger monitor that'll do justice to the 580s and help my failing eyesight.
