Ok so I'm travelling alot, flights etc. So it's not always possible to go online. Does anyone have any good truly offline games? I prefer newer titles, but older are welcome too!
Civilization series for me in those situations. 4 being the best imo. I'm also fond of EUIII but that might depend how into the strategy genre you are.
Depends on your preference but could get games that offer both experiences Max Payne 3 Starcraft 2 Depends what sort of games you like
The Dawn of War II series have excellent campaigns with many potential hours there (I think it was about 35 hours for Retribution alone). The suggestions above are also very good/perfect as well.
Football manager 2012 Passes time Addictive Uses very little resources ( laptop lasted 9hrs with it in flight to. New York)
CIV V requires Steam unfortunately, I've been playing Champ Manager 01/02 recently! Is it possible to play the SC2 campaign without any form of authentication?
Offline mode isn't that reliable though, it sometimes just throws a tantrum and starts demanding an internet connection
Torchlight is my game of choice for journeys because it can be run on last-gen+1 integrated graphics quite happily. That or something on a Gameboy emulator.
Have to +1 to every suggestion here but if you want to try some other things. Beyond Good And Evil - Old (and controls need some tweaks to get them laid out nicely) but a truly awesome 3D platform game, possibly the best. Defense Grid - Tower defense but better. Simple but horribly addictive if you happen to like them. Orcs Must Die Rock Of Ages Diablo 2 Yes most of those require steams offline mode but assuming it works ok they can easily suck up the time and make it pass quicker
City buildings games work for me. Currently playing some Anno games, but something classic like Pharaoh can really eat the time away
