Hey, i felt this was best posted in this section of the forums as it's to do with a PC and it say's the prefix can be networks too. Im wondering if there is a Ethernet cable that can run from my router downstairs, to my bedroom into my PC, because im trying to play FPS game's on a wireless connection and it's just spiking and freezing every 10-20second's and it's driving me insane. The spike will last around 3Seconds and then the game will run fine again, and then about 10seconds later the same thing will happen, also it's causing me to run at around 100MS so im automatically getting put into shitty games, (Modern Warfare 3 PC is what im playing ) The length the cable need's to be is around 20-25Meters. (It will run from the router in my living room to my bedroom )
was you referring to that, and i honestly think i love you, if that will do the trick then i will most defiantly love you, being kicked from the last 5 game's due to connection lost Ordering that cable as soon as i get confirmation that's the one you ment. Cheers. Edit, ****, Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock. Double edit, What about This?
just make sure that the delivery cost doesnt spike at check out get a 2 pound set of heater keys and they wanted £50 postage. almost didn't notice too.
I found Scan to have pretty decent low-cost cables - like this one. Plus you get free delivery if you buy it with something else that pushes the price beyond the threshold (I think it is £20, but not sure). An excellent excuse to get that graphics card you always wanted!
I get mine from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20M-RJ45-...uting_NetworkingCables_RL&hash=item5641316648 Or a cat 6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30M-Cat6e...uting_NetworkingCables_RL&hash=item3a6bf0679a
we have 1 length of cat 6 running between the switches ; adsl router single cable to gigabit switch (4 connections +uplink) then 20m cat 6 to another gigabit switch which has 3 things on it.... made teh cables myself tbh - a roll of cat 6 was cheap enough for me
Yes I am using 500AV ones from that company atm as they use the same chip as Delovo at 2/3 the price going good for 6 months now.
only the cheap ones or if you have bad wiring its a case of you get what you pay for. Used Delovo AV200 to bridge over 100 meters from home to barn conversion. Never had an issues, but in my parents house they have high quality wiring. (went through 2 fuseboxes too) Edit: The main cause is cheap multi wire/braided power cables, on solid core power cables I have never heard this being an issue, even older houses.
I got this £12, for next day i had to pay 6quid dafuq is that. But, i need it urgently haha! Thanks for all the help guys.
You can buy this stuff anywhere out here. Is it really that hard to find in a store in England? Or do they not stock it?
In the UK stores charge high premiums for this stuff so every one here buys online for a 10th of the high-street price.
The OP got his cable for £12 delivered yet if i want to walk into a store for example: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/belkin-cat-6-rj45-networking-cable-15m-10819335-pdt.html 1/2 the length for nearly 3 times the price.....
Ethernet cables can go for 100 metres before a switch is needed, CAT5 or CAT6 will be perfectly fine, 30 metres is nothing
