Now a guy in the hate thread wants to know why you decided on an auction? Um, to get the best price for your goods. This really is all about people wanting a CC but being priced out of the bidding. I want an Audi RS6, but I'm damned if I can find one for £17.50!

Hi, I'd like to pay $80 for a single keycap, however I don't know how I feel about paying $17 to make sure it get's to me.

 

The sob story auctions never get complained about!

 

I find it interesting that girldc caps go for $150 minimum, more for non Ironman ones but noone ever raises complaint there.

 

Here's a god awful pic I took of my '86 Silver Label I recieved the other day, still need to clean her up!

 

Ahhh, but... Stirling silver; precious metal rather than plastic and that makes all the difference... HA!

ABS around £20/kg
Silver (bullion, today) £558.358/KG

ABS cap ≈ £0.02
Silver cap ≈ £5 - £10

As ever, the bulk of the cost is in the craftsmanship.

I won't be doing limited run caps as a rule - it's just not how I do things. However, I will be doing single/limited run keys on commission as a bespoke manufacturer - as I already do with jewellery.

 

They get so wound up!

 

Geekhack makes me appreciate this thread and the people in it. You guys have really been the only people on GH that I've actually ever liked. Snide ****s.
