Hoi! I got a request from a friend, he wanted a small computer to play music, watch movies and check his mail and so on. He is building a bar and wanted a PC there. I loooove making sff builds so this is going to be fun. He just wanted a small working computer, but thats boring. Im going to make some smaller mods and make it look really good and fit in to a bar. I started looking around for a nice case and ended up with a Streacom F1C Evo. I fell in love! It measures 200x200x70mm and fits a mini-itx, slotin slimdrive dvd, 2x 2.5" drives. So now Im currently looking for sponsors for a picopsu and some nice looking feet to the case. CDON.com is sponsoring this build with a ASRock E350M1. Kingston is helping me with a 2x4gb kit DDR3. Kingston HyperX 2x4gb DDR3 1600MHz. To-do list. Install 2x 50mm fans. Engrave the Jack Daniels logo on top. Sleeve everything that can be sleeved. Cablemanagement. Install some nice feet. This is what the case looks like. I remembered Wolverine engraving a Jack Daniels logo to a side panel of a Antec P180 and I thought I would make something similar. It will be perfect for the bar. My friend will be so surprised! So today Im starting the engraving and Ill be back as soon as possible. Give me feedback ofcourse! With kind regards! Johan Nyman
Me too! I took a break from the engraving now, my arms are tired lol. This is how far Ive come. When Im done with the outlines I will fill it and then fix everything so it looks nice.
Done with engraving for tonight. My arms are sooo tired. But its not much left to do now, some small lines and then just fix some edges so everything looks smooth. What do you think?
How are you engraving it? By hand or dremel/other multi tool? Always wanted to attempt something similar.
Im using a Dremel. Try it! Its fun, but needs patience. The engraving of the Jack Daniels logo is now finished. It sure looks handmade and I like it! This build will slow down a bit until I get some hardware. Currently looking for sponsors for a AMD E-350 motherboard, some ram and some nice casefeet. Ill be back as soon as possible!
CDON.com is my first sponsor! Woho! CDON.com is sponsoring this build with a ASRock E350M1. Its exactly the motherboard I wanted. CDON.com is a big techstore in Sweden. Check it out!
Thank you Evenge! Thanks Wayne! He was the one who inspired me. He did a Jack Daniels logo on a Antec P180 once. I dont think you would have a problem with engraving, it just needs patience. Thanks, and yes it takes alot of patience. Time for an update though! I got the motherboard today. Its a ASRock E350M1, a really cheap and nice board. It has an integrated AMD E-350 with a Radeon HD 6310. Plays 1080p like a charm! I had two 50mm fans laying around that I wanted to use. One of them will be used to blow air out of the case and the other will be switched with the 40mm fan on the motherboard. I made some custom lenghts on the cables to fit perfect, dont have a lot of room for cablemanagement. And the i/o-plate needed some black paint! This is what I will be using for the OS. I used this Corsair F60 in an older build, works good. Right now Im planning where to put it, cause a slotin dvd is going into this case also. I will soon announce my second sponsor too. Just need to get some more info about it, but its gooood. I also ordered a picopsu-kit and the slot-in dvddrive today. This project will be finished soon. I think my friend will love this PC. Thats all for now! Johan Nyman
Another update tonight! I found a small tinted acrylic piece in the front of the case, for a ir-remote. I had one for usb left from a old Asus motherboard so why dont use that one? I took it apart and started soldering some custom cables, I want my own lenght of the cables. The chip IR The small tinted piece The whole thing The remote I fixed all the cables, soldered the chip to internal usb connectors. I installed the chip next to the chip for the powerswitch and powerled. I like it! Looks clean with that black sleeve. Everything is set for the last hardware drop, heres an picture of the awesome casefeet that Fannblade made for me, looks so awesome! As soon as these land I will be putting everything together. Im looking forward to it! Ill be back!
So everything is done with my second sponsor so now I will reveal it. Kingston is helping me with a 2x4gb kit DDR3. Kingston HyperX 2x4gb DDR3 1600MHz. www.kingston.com Thank you Kingston!
Thank you! Time for an update! I will soon be finished! Yay! I got the last parts today. The first package was packed with some fantastic casefeet made by Fannblade here at Bit-Tech. Thanks man, I love em! They look really good on the case, gives it that "hifi" look I wanted. Package number two was the DDR3 sticks from Kingston. Perfect blue colour too, fits nice with the motherboard. Third and last package included this slimline slotin dvd and the picopsu. In this build I really wanted to sleeve everything, take some time to get all the small details nice. So the cable from the psu to the acdc-adapter got some black sleeve on it This case is really getting full with stuff! Now I have a question for you, I bumped into a little "problem". The motherboard has a 24pin connector but the 80W picopsu got a 20pin. I plugged it in and everything worked, I installed Win7, no problem. What does those 4 extra cables do? Can I run it like this? Thank you for all the nice comments! Johan Nyman
The 4 extra cables are for extra power to the PCI slot. But since you're not using a seperate GPU you're fine Case is coming together real nice, your buddy is lucky the get this
Hello! Now Im finished with the last small details. I finalized the engraving yesterday, I also changed the thermal compounds on the chips. Today I got the cable for the dvd-drive, sleeved it and then managed all the cables as good as possible. Not much space for it, and hard to show you because of the dvd and ssd is installed over everything. But I sleeved everything black kept it nice. AMD E-350. Some power for the dvd and ssd. Little space left. Fits very good. Really nice quality on Streacoms cases. Well here is the final pictures! Enjoy! I had to buy something for the case. This have been a really fun mini-project. I think my friend will really like it. I want to thank my two sponsors for helping me with this build, check them out! CDON.com sponsored this build with a ASRock E350M1. Kingston sponsored this build with a 2x4gb kit DDR3. Kingston HyperX 2x4gb DDR3 1600MHz. I also want to thank Fannblade here for making me those awesome casefeet! And last of all I want to thank everyone here on the forum for all the nice comments and feedback! I would appreciate if you would want to check out my facebook-site too and like it! See you for my next project! With kind regards! Johan Nyman
