@myrizzle: Yeah the 700 series is looking to be pretty fast. Bit peeved actually at the fact that the 780 is GK110 based but at an estimated $500-600, could have gone for a Tri-780 setup instead.

@ziza: Thanks, will definitely be putting the whole system through it's paces when I receive the water blocks. Should b fun giving the Titans a good OC thrashing!

 

'Sup everybody, sorry this part has taken so long. The waterblocks and backplates I wanted kept going out of stock, finally managed to get an order in the other day, they arrived this morning!

I'm also rather pushed for time currently as it's good ol' exam season for me, so don't expect any frequent updates until that's over. I did, however, take some pics of the new blocks as they are rather sexy indeed. I went for the EK XXL Titan blocks as I much prefer the look found on dual GPU cards, where the block extends to cover the whole PCB, not just the main components.

It's also quite handy that the XXL blocks also come with the backplate, a relief given that the normal backplates were out of stock everywhere. Even more surprising though is the fact that it cost the same to get a small block and backplate as it did to get this extended one, not bad. Also I love the clean look of these blocks and plates. It seems that I was one of the few who actually liked the CSQ design (well, no the black acetal components anyway), but these are simply stunning.

Hoping to have this all wrapped up and finished by the start of June!

I'll be installing the blocks once I've got all the other bits like some more pastel white and a couple of short, white cathodes (for the top by the reservoirs).

 

Well I couldn't resist. Since I had one of the Titans out of the case anyway (owing to a wiring oddity, fixed now) I decided to fit the first waterblock to it. Must say I've truly fallen for the return of the clean look, simple and elegant works quite nicely.

That block really is lush and the back plate is perfect, smooth with just the silver logo in contrast.

@NoobNeb: Yeah they look really great. Had a chance to pick up and have a close look at the Aquacomputer Kryo Titan blocks too today, still prefer these.

Well I popped into Yoyotech today to pick up some more pastel white, great service as usual. Love chatting to the guys in there, those new windowed copper AC Kryo blocks are purdy, pack a serious weight to them too. Good news is that hopefully I may be able to finish this up some time in the week, far ahead of schedule. The next big thing ater that will be finding the time (and weather!) to take some proper final photos that actually do this thing justice.

If you're talking about the first pic then yeah I'm not sure. They completely soaked the chip in the stuff, I was very surprised when I took off the stock cooler to see that. Took ages to clean too as it was everywhere.

 

No, the massive pea sized one you put on it.

 

Oh that's mostly the reflection from the chip itself making it look like that.

 

Insane... Which kind of plant were they smoking at the assembly line?

And though I love the titan stock.... Sleek is always, always sexy... Be it a ninja in leather or a Titan in it's new clothes.
