Really? I think it helps to keep it's width in proportion. Take away the top bar and it starts to look too long and skinny, fragile looking. At a glance it looks like a golden section with a square stuck on the end, not entirely un-pleasing...

...I must now go and get a tape measure and calculator, back in a while...

DAMN this MK IRC channel, I just can't keep up!

    I was replying to this...

And for those who care; if a G80-3000 had its number pad and arrow cluster pgup pgdwn etc cut of it would be a golden rectangle... Something like a race with a fat top bar.

    Ahhh ok.

I've never tried a proper Cherry board. Maybe someone will bring one to the next KB meet....

    G80-3000 is classic. It's still like 30% smaller than a model M I swear! Of course a 3000 looks ludicrous next to a 60%.

This evening I put a beast plate on a poker: (this poker is not mine - I am doing this work for someone else)

Modded all the non LED switches to 65g blues with Korean springs. There was also 2 faulty switches which I took off and replaced the switch housing. Removed LEDs and LED switches. (but this photo made me realise I had missed space bar :) )

    All switches off the board
    [IMG]

Plate didn't fit correctly as the edges around the stabs weren't true - so I filed them with a needle file to make them straight then it fit fine.

All switches in the plate - it is hard work getting the switches in a beast plate

In a case and LED test :)

There is no stab in right shift as this has been pinched for the 38GT as it was one short.

DONE! 4 hours start to finish with some dinner eating in the middle.

True. I'm just getting fed up of two things: the noise of the MX blues, and the size of the board. :)

Thanks! Not long to go now :worried:

? Nothing seems to be found when I click the link

Nice work! And quick too! You should have asked - I have spare stabilisers and you could have had one of those...
