TV Shows BBC Top Gear

Still funny to watch, they rarely review a car anyone could afford to buy anyway. Other shows for that in truth.

This ep seemed to drag on a bit but we shall see.

P1 set a new n ring lap record for a road car at 6.30 but its not the fastest time ever achieved on that circut. ( alot of prototypes below and above it ) Cheapest car to buy would be the dodge gts that did it in 7mins. Always wondered how fast you could take a formula 1 car around it. Id imagine something sub 5mins.

 

Top Gear is verging on embarrassing. I wish they would just cut the OTT nonsense and make the segments a tad more intelligent but without losing the presenters' own sense of humour. That hot hatch episode was a total waste of an opportunity to actually compare the two eras of cars.

 

Beautiful episode. One of the best for a long time.

 

Much, much better than episode one. No lap time for the Alfa though, unless I missed it.

The P1 was given the segment it deserved (unlike the Autocar video), the 4C segment was pretty good, and the Afghan war machines segment was really inspired. Even the SIARPC segment was interesting. An all round good episode.

I love the adventure episodes, and get a bit bored on the properly car ones these days.

Thought that quad-ski and the AR was amazing, but the P1 bored me a bit.

 

I'm not much of a super-car person but that P1 is something else entirely. One of those rare things that makes you imagine taking it back 50 - hell, even 20 - years and wondering what on earth people would make of it

 

Much better episode, want a 4C..... It shall be my next car..

My boy was absolutely glued to the TV during the P1 and AR/quad bits. He's going to be an expensive child

I always think those races are rigged :/

 

The races have always been faked or at least "managed" for the desired outcome, even before we were lamenting how the show has became so scripted.

But yeah this race was quite poor, it started well enough, but the end was woeful, i wish the guys would realise they can't act and when they do, it is cringe worthy.

Even with that, the rest of the episode was the strongest for some time, so if the rest of the season is as good i'll be happy.

 

Agreed, absolutely bananas. I'm not afraid to say that when the hybrid hypercar trio were announced I thought they would be crap. A compromised tech used as a nod to the green movement that spoils so many cars these days, but how wrong I was (about one of them anyway!) The P1 is a fantastic machine, absolutely and totally spellbinding.

Let's see what the Ferrari F70 can do when (if!) it's finally finished.
