I'm not 100% sure no, but I don't remember the last time Nvidia allowed a board partner to put Nvidia's logo on a non OEM board... However, they may have added or changed the VRMs.. I would contact KFA2 personally. Their warranty is very good and UK based, so it's worth contacting them.
I think that because we are so close to the realease of the GTX 880, I would either hold off, or pick up 2 secondhand R9 290's off Seb.F. then with the saving you can still buy waterblocks, and still have change left over than buying 2 new R9 290's - It's what I would do right now.
I reckon the gtx 880 will be way out of my price range as it will be more than a 780ti PLUS I'll be sticking it on the credit card (don't worry it will be 0% purchase card) so I can't pay Seb with that
Ok fair enough. Well as we are only looking at new, then a GTX 780 is what I would buy. But don't kick yourself in a month or so when the GTX 880 gets released. (I predict it will retail at £399, but etailers will wack up the price on launch...)
Good evening, I know you listed your options in the original post, but with the near future having big releases in it wouldn't buying another 7970 to crossfire make more sense? To me, you get the extra performance at a reasonable price and you can upgrade in the future when the next generation of cards get released. Just don't get the sense that the new higher level GTX range will see a release this early in the year TBH. Would be tickled to see a new high level architecture from Nvidia in action however!
It makes perfect sense to release a new card when X99 and Haswell-E is due around the corner. Nvidia normally realease their new GPU's around Easter, and not forgetting that Keplar is now 2yrs old too.
Have to admit I am trying to air on the side of caution. That vacant space on my motherboard got me thinking about GTX 780 Ti SLI even though I don't need it! Managing to hold out so far with the only logical reason to upgrade being CryEngine that really tests my GTX 780 Ti at 2560 by 1440 with maxed settings. I'm looking at you Star Citizen, unoptimised as it is!
At 1200p with a 7970 my steer would be leave it in your rig and don't spend any money, esp' on a CC; 0% or not!
Yes I prefer the SLI experience, it is still better IMO, smoothness, stability and features, no heat issues all 3 of my 290s are Watercooled.
