News Elite dev announces new game alongside redundancies

Yes, a theme park game is a logical progression after Elite. It should be 2d sprite based with low-res graphics. Probably a good move to lay off all the Elite coders and just focus on making the best theme park management game possible. The game world is sorely in need of more theme park games.

 

I wish they would finish their current game before making a new one.

 

Well, Roller Coaster Tycoon was one of their great successes so I imagine that it makes sense to do a sequel. And a publisher can do more than one game at a time, I'm sure.

 

wish they would actually ship the game on dvd as paid for before doing this....

 

I wouldn't mind an updated Transport Tycoon, that game was epic and I lost so many days of my life just playing that

 

So you want them to just stop work on Elite instead of rolling out updates over the course of the next two years, one of which includes planetary landings?

Depending on which design route they decide to go down, they might have some strong competition from Parkitect when that one releases.
